Fortunately, this isn't something we have to deal with often down here in Houston, but in Alaska, snowy roads led to a near disaster. The video is from Christmas Day. A tow truck driver and officer were helping a driver whose car was disabled, when an SUV lost control and nearly hit them! #fuck_lucky
Hero who killed gunman after he opened fire on parishioners is identified as ex-FBI agent Jack Wilson, 71, FOX Orlando reports. Wilson is running for county commissioner in the local area and said he was grateful he had the chance to defend himself and the other innocent people in the church from the 'evil' gunman. Public records show he owns On Target Firearms. There are mixed reports over whether that is a gun store or a shooting school. Wilson did not immediately respond to @police_frequency inquiries on Monday morning. He is an enthusiastic Trump supporter, Republican and gun owner whose campaign mission is to help law enforcement and restore the public respect police officers once enjoyed. Wilson has been married for 51 years, has three daughters and some grandchildren. #MAGA

One morning earlier this year, a woman named Diane noticed her 31 year old son, Lance, had gone missing from their California home. Lance is on the autism spectrum and Diane was worried about him, so she called the local police. Sergeant Jerrod Marshall and Officer Justin Thompson responded and began searching the park near their home. Thankfully, they quickly found Lance but he looked frightened. Officer Thompson began talking to Lance and trying to calm him down....before finally settling into a hug. Sergeant Marshall captured the touching, tender moment in a photo and later told the Today Show: “This is why we do our job.” (Credit for post: Sergeant Jerrod Marshall of the City of Rohnert Park Police Department)👮🏻♂️

Eventually a third party made contact with the woman and told her to leave the house and turn toward where deputies were waiting for her, the sheriff's office said. As she walked out of the house, the sheriff's office said the suspect rushed out and shot her in the shoulder. The bullet ricocheted and struck her in the face. At that moment, deputies opened fire on the suspect, killing him. He's been identified as 65-year-old Harvey Cantrell. The shooting victim is expected to survive. She's stable at Central Florida Hospital in Sanford. The victim came to Deltona to visit her brother after their mother died. The deputies involved in the shooting are on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol after the use of deadly force. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is handling the investigation.👮🏻♂️

A U.S. Border Patrol K-9 agent was involved in a single vehicle accident along Highway 395 early Sunday morning. The agent, who was patrolling an area northwest of Colville, struck black ice along a section of Highway 395 causing the service vehicle to lose traction, Breaking 911 reports. The vehicle then went over a steep embankment and rolled multiple times. Rescuers were able to extract the agent from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. The agent was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries. The agent’s K-9 partner, Jackie, however succumbed to the injuries from the accident and died at the scene. K-9 Jackie had been serving since April of 2015. “Thank you to all the rescuers and medical staff involved and please remember K-9 Jackie and the agent in your thoughts and prayers,” stated Acting Chief Patrol Agent David BeMiller. “We understand the risks that we take as well as our K-9 partners; it is never easy when we lose a partner.”🗿 #RIP
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice on Monday approved the termination of dozens of Corrections Academy trainees seen in a photograph appearing to give a Nazi salute, reports FOX News. The photograph, released publicly earlier this month by the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, showed more than 30 trainees from Basic Training Class 18 with their arms raised in a salute. The caption “Hail Byrd!” – a reference to the trainees’ instructor – is visible above the group. Before the image was released, Jeff Sandy, the agency’s secretary, had written a memo in which he derided the image as “distasteful, hurtful, disturbing, highly insensitive, and completely inappropriate.” He said the image “betrays the professionalism I have seen time and time again displayed and practiced by our brave correctional employees.”
