The Beech Bonanza aircraft, which is a six-seater, single-engine model plane, crashed around 10 a.m. just short of the runway at the Destin Executive Airport, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriffโs Office. While coming in for a landing, the small plane experienced engine trouble and just missed a house before careening into a tree near Main Street. The two men, along with their Labrador retriever, โsomehow survived without a scratch,โ the sheriffโs office said in a Facebook post. They were the only people aboard the aircraft. Jason Dougherty, 47, and his son Caleb Dougherty, 22, both from Kansas, were flying to Florida for vacation. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the accident. #fuck_lucky

A man from Indiana ended up receiving what appeared to be a lottery win rather than a stimulus check. Charles Calvin checked his bank account and found that $8.2million dollars had been deposited into his checking account instead of the $1,700 he had been expecting to cover himself and a child. The IRS announced it had sent out the first round of stimulus payments on Saturday. #fuck_lucky

The U.S. Supreme Court granted a reprieve to a Texas inmate scheduled to die for fatally stabbing an 85-year-old woman more than two decades ago, continuing a more than four-month delay of executions in the nation's busiest death penalty state during the coronavirus pandemic. The U.S. Supreme Court blocked Ruben Gutierrez's execution about an hour before he could have been executed. Gutierrez's attorneys had argued his religious rights are being violated because the prison system won't allow a chaplain to accompany him in the death chamber. The Texas prison system last year banned clergy from the death chamber following a Supreme Court ruling that halted the execution of another inmate, Patrick Murphy, who had requested a Buddhist adviser be allowed in the chamber. In response to the ruling in Murphy's case, the Texas prison system changed its policy to no longer allow clergy in the death chamber and that only prison security staff would be allowed into the execution chamber. #FUCK_LUCKY
An Arizona couple struck lucky and won the Mega Millions jackpot after playing the lottery for nearly 40 years. The husband and wife from Glendale hauled in a $410 million Mega Millions jackpot, picking numbers based on family birthdays -- and attributing the win to a lucky penny. The Arizona Lottery cited the couple as the 11th largest jackpot in the gameโs history as well as the largest single payout to any Arizona player. The Arizona Lottery was ecstatic to see a winner in the state, especially under such incredible circumstances. The couple chose to take the lump sum of $316.8 million, which comes out to roughly $228 million after taxes. Lottery officials have stated that the couple wishes to remain anonymous as is their right under state law. #FUCK_LUCKY
