Police have confiscated a rifle owned by lawyer Mark McCloskey, seen holding the weapon in last month’s viral video as he and his armed wife confronted Black Lives Matter protesters who’d broken into their gated community. St. Louis cops descended on the McCloskeys’ Central West End home on Friday night with a search warrant for the gun, as well as the pistol that Patricia McCloskey was seen waving around in the infamous video, local media reported. The couple’s attorney had reportedly taken possession of the pistol already. So far, no charges have been filed against the McCloskeys, who called the police and armed themselves after more than 100 demonstrators broke through a gate near their property en route to protest in front of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s house.

The video captures the tense moments in March between Dr. P.J. Parmar and the officer. Parmar said he is preparing a civil rights lawsuit over the encounter. Three Detroit officers shot at Hakim Littleton, 20, killing him on Detroit's west side just after noon on Friday, sparking a call for immediate protests in the wake of nationwide unrest following the death of George Floyd during a police incident in May. "Justice for Hakim Littleton! Fire and jail the killer cop!" dozens of demonstrators chanted outside Detroit's 12th Precinct headquarters on Seven Mile Road near Woodward on Friday night. More than two hours earlier, police played dash and bodycam video appearing to show Littleton drawing and firing on officers who were arresting an associate.

Four children were killed after the driver of a semitruck – who authorities believe may have been under the influence of drugs – slammed into a car that was slowing in a construction zone on Interstate 70 in eastern Indiana, pushing it into the path of another semi. The three-vehicle crash occurred just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, and police arrived on the scene to find a Chevrolet car and a second semitruck pulling a box trailer careened off the highway and engulfed in flames. The 33-year-old driver, Cory Withrow of Camden, Ohio, escaped his burning semi with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Reid Health Hospital in Richmond, Indiana State Police said. Preliminary toxicology reports indicated that Withrow had multiple drugs in his system, the sheriff's office said. The driver of the second semi, Thomas Flaherty, 57, of Springfield, Ohio, was transported by medical helicopter to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was admitted to the burn unit in critical condition.
