President Trump on Tuesday will pardon two turkeys at the White House ahead of Thanksgiving โ€” a decades-long tradition in which the president uses the power of the office to keep a pair of the meaty birds off holiday tables.

Thieves smashed display cases and grabbed priceless jewels from an eastern German museum in the early hours of Monday in a lightning raid on one of Europeโ€™s greatest collections of treasures, police said. Security camera footage showed two men breaking in through a grilled window, police said. The alarm sounded just before 5 a.m. local time and officers were there five minutes later. But the burglars had escaped. The haul was worth up to $1.2 billion, Bild newspaper reported earlier, without giving a source. It said a nearby electricity junction box had been set on fire, cutting the power supply to the whole area before the heist. #fuck_lucky

Thanksgiving is set to be a stormy affair for much of the US as two storms, one on the West Coast and one on the East, continued to bring heavy snow, high winds and potential flash flooding. A severe turbulence warning was issued Thursday that stretched from Rhode Island down into North Carolina as a storm rotates over New England, with a dozen flights cancelled early morning with almost 200 delayed. Meanwhile the Great Lakes and parts of New England were hit by a severe wind warning, after some 300,000 homes were left without power overnight. Meanwhile California, Utah and Wyoming were subject to widespread heavy snow warnings, with those on lower ground along the West Coast and Arizona told to expect heavy rain and potential flash flooding. Drivers reported being stranded overnight on Interstate 5 after a 'bomb cyclone' caused a deluge of snow that closed more than 100 miles of road.โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธ
Five people have died and three were injured when a fire broke out on the 14th floor of a public housing high-rise in Minneapolis early Wednesday. While the cause of the blaze was still under investigation, Fire Chief John Fruetel told reporters that investigators believe the fire was an accident, but he didn't explain why. The building is in part of Minneapolis known as Little Mogadishu for the many Somali immigrants who have settled there. Fruetel said the fire had been burning for a while and had blown out windows by the time firefighters arrived. A fire alarm was sounding throughout the building, and from a distance, flames could be seen extending 10 to 15 feet from windows on the 14th floor.๐Ÿ”ฅ
