WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT! Surveillance video caught the shocking moment a motorist deliberately drove his car on to a Manhattan sidewalk and crashed into a father and his eight-year-old son. The crazed driver of the BMW then jumps out of the vehicle and slashes the father's throat, authorities said of the incident in Harlem earlier this month. The father and son were pushed into a gate by the impact and rushed to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. #NYPD told @police_frequency in the Telegram the father has nine previous busts for crimes such as robbery and grand larceny. #NY
More than 200 activists protested against the presence on officers in the subway system and the #NYPD in Harlem, New York. The demonstrations started near the Harriet Tubman Memorial and marched through Upper Manhattan to the Bronx. At least 58 people are reported to have been arrested as civilians and police officers clashed throughout the night. One video shows a police officer mocking a civilian by allegedly saying, 'if he can yell, he can breathe,' when the man was said 'I can't breathe' when being arrested. This protest follows a similar one held in Brooklyn on November 1. They spawned after viral video showed incidents where MTA officers are accused of using excessive force against passengers. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his plan to add 500 additional police officers to patrol the subway lines. #NY
The #NYPD announced on Thursday morning that winds had calmed down enough - to around 20mph - for the balloons to safely fly in the parade. For days, there has been uncertainty over whether the giant inflatables would be able to take part. #NY happy #thanksgiving

A New York City man narrowly missed being crushed beneath a subway train after a hammer-wielding attacker making homophobic comments fought with and then tossed a 21-year-old straphanger onto the tracks before fleeing the station, officials said. The New York Police Department said the incident happened Nov. 11 at 1 a.m. at the Tremont Avenue B/D Train subway station in the Bronx, reported FOX News. The victim told police he was waiting on the northbound platform when a man began making anti-gay statements to him and then attempted to hit him with a hammer but missed. "The individual continued to struggle with the victim and threw him onto the train track," police said. A group of Good Samaritans nearby were able to alert the motorman to stop the arriving train and prevent a potential tragedy. The 21-year-old was then helped back up onto the platform. The #NYPD on Tuesday released a sketch of the suspect wanted in the attack. #WANTED #NY
There was a heavy security presence at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Wednesday for an event attended by tens of thousands of Jewish people amid a recent spate of anti-Semitic attacks in the area. The New Year's Day event, called Siyum HaShas, celebrated the completion of the reading of the 2,711-page Babylonian Talmud, a process that takes 7-and-a-half years. Similar events have recently been held in major cities around the globe, such as Mexico City, while others are scheduled to take place in the next few weeks. #NY

The mayor of New York City has ordered the #NYPD to take immediate steps to protect key locations across the city after a U.S. airstrike killed Iran's top general, FOX 5 New York reports. Mayor Bill de Blasio said, "We will have to be vigilant against this threat for a long time to come." The security moves come after Tehran vowed "harsh retaliation" for the airstrike near Baghdad's airport that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Quds Force. De Blasio says there could be an attempt by Iran or "its terrorist allies" to target New York City. No specific details on security measures were made public but the city's sprawling subway system has always been feared as a soft-target. #NY
The new Hells Angels headquarters in The Bronx has been hit by a hail of bullets just weeks after the biker gang took up residence in the area. Police say the clubhouse was left partially damaged in the attack, which took place late on Thursday night. 'Everyone's worst fears have materialized,' Bronx Community Board 10 District Manager Matt Cruz told The New York Daily News. 'The community is upset and scared,' he added. 'We are on heightened alert for this and we're hoping the #NYPD can get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible and we're sure they will.' No arrests have yet been made over Thursday's incident. #NY

Welcome to the city of the Dems! A shocking photo has emerged showing a woman performing a sex act in the street in the Upper West Side, in another alarming indication of how one of New York City's wealthiest neighborhoods is being overtaken by crime and homelessness. In a disturbing picture shared on Twitter, the woman can be seen crouching down while apparently performing oral sex on a shirtless man near W 79th Street and Broadway around 9pm on Sunday. She also appears to be undressed from the waist down, with her pants around her knees. A witness who took the photo told @police_frequency on the Telegram the woman also had removed her pants to pee on the sidewalk during the encounter. #facepalm #NY
