We were pleased to host a special visitor during last week’s Peer Support training at CMPD: Riggins, Therapy Dog with Matthews Fire & EMS.

Riggins joined our sessions to observe the work of our Peer Support Team and had the opportunity to meet CMPD Therapy Dog Lottie during his visit. It was a great moment to bring our agencies together and highlight the growing role of support animals in responder wellness.

Thank you to Fire EMS for allowing K9 Riggins to spend time with us. We look forward to continued partnership in supporting the well‑being of first responders across our region.

NEW: Six people were arrested, multiple cars were seized and two people were injured following a large-scale street takeover Saturday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

The takeovers occurred in multiple locations across Portland, including the 9900 block of North Whitaker Road, as well as the area of Northeast 33rd Avenue and and Northeast Broadway Street.

Police say they located a gathering of “hundreds” of individuals either occupying intersections, performing dangerous stunts in cars, or watching the events.

In interview w/ Bret Baier, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin floats the idea of stripping CBP/customs officers from airports in large sanctuary cities as retaliation for refusing to cooperate with the federal government. International travelers wouldn’t be able to fly into airports and leave without going through customs.

Mullin points out that Democrats are also refusing to fund CBP.

“It’s something we’re looking at,” Mullin said.
