Today marks the 83rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
On December 7, 1941, the tranquil island of Honolulu, Hawaii, was suddenly disrupted by a deliberate and vicious attack from a foreign enemy. Our U.S. military personnel faced an unexpected and hostile assault intended to shock our nation.
Instead of immobilizing us, this attack united our country, prompting our entry into World War II and fostering our collaboration with the Allied forces to help bring the war to an end.
The Los Angeles County Sheriffβs Department pays tribute to the brave individuals who valiantly defended themselves and our nation against this malicious assault, and we honor the memory of those who lost their lives on that tragic morning. #PearlHarbor #pearlharbordayβ΄βοΈπΊπΈ
