LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva:
It was a privilege and an honor for me to have met Corporal Sidney Walton, a World War II Veteran, when made a stop at the Hall of Justice during his โNo Regretsโ tour. When he was young, a group of Civil War veterans gathered in his hometown and he missed the chance to meet them, and later regretted it. On his 99th birthday, with the encouragement from his son, he decided to embark on a tour so that others would have the opportunity to meet a WWII Veteran. Thank you Sidney for your service to our nation and for giving many of us the opportunity to meet someone from one of the Greatest Generations. May you rest in peace.

Today marks the 82nd commemoration of the Pearl Harbor attack. On December 7, 1941, the peaceful Honolulu, was viciously attacked by a foreign threat. Our U.S military service members woke up to a blitzkrieg assault that intended to stun our nation. Instead, the attack triggered our nation and joined the allied forces to help end #WWII.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department honors those courageous brave souls who fought back during the battle, and we remember those who lost their lives that fateful morning. #History #PearlHarbor
