You make a choice every day. Make the correct choice; donโt drink & drive!
The Los Angeles County Sheriffโs Department will be highly visible and out enforcing the law to protect the community during the New Yearโs. Deputies will be on the road patrolling the areas looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Celebrate the New Year responsibly by calling a friend, calling a taxi or by using a ride share app.

What goes up, will come down! Each year, tragic incidents occur involving victims being struck and injured by falling bullets caused by celebratory gunfire.
Despite public warnings many people across Los Angeles disregard advisements and forget safety awareness involving firearms. These individuals discharge their firearms into the air to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
Shooting into the air is not only irresponsible, but a felony-level crime. Willfully Discharging a Firearm in a Grossly Negligent Manner which could result in injury or death to a person is a violation of section 246.3(a) of the California Penal Code.
If you see someone discharge a firearm in public or into the air, take immediate shelter and call 9-1-1, and do not attempt to confront the shooter.
Celebrate the New Year safely and responsibly and allow others to do the same. Donโt fire your gun into the air on New Yearโs Eve! #LASD #HappyNewYear2024
