DUI Arrest Leads to Power Outage in Buckhannon, WV
On Monday morning, April 7, 2025, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash that caused a significant power outage in the area. The suspect, Joshua Paul Woods, drove his vehicle off the road at a high rate of speed, hitting a tree, multiple mailboxes, a fence, and a power pole before coming to rest on power lines.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, but the crash caused a major disruption in power throughout the area. Woods was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
