Video of mentally ill Beau Bangert, 28, being assaulted in 2017 by multiple corrections officers was released after a $1.4million class action settlement. Placer County Sheriffs Office had fought to keep the video out of the public view citing ongoing litigation issues to leave the footage sealed. Banger, left bloodied in his cell, received $250,000 in a separate settlement, and $50,000 as an incentive award for leading the class action as plaintiff.
