Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un abruptly ended their summit in Hanoi early without signing a deal. He said the issue was Kim's insistence that all sanctions get lifted in return for only giving up some nukes. Trump continued to tout his 'warm' relationship with Kim, but added 'you have to be willing to walk away'. But North Korean officials made a rare appearance on Thursday after President Trump departed Vietnam to publicly rebuke him for claims he made about the breakdown in talks. Sanders then hit back, tweeting: 'President Obama refused to walk away from a bad deal with Iran. President @realDonaldTrump refuses to make the same mistake with Iran, North Korea, or anybody else'. Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho had said the country asked for 'partial sanctions' relief, primarily in the areas harming North Korean citizens and affecting their livelihoods. In return, Pyongyang offered to 'permanently' close its Plutonium and Uranium facilities in the Yongbyon region in the presence of U.S. inspectors. Ri told reporters an opportunity to make a better agreement may not present itself: 'Our principle stand will remain variably and our proposal will never be changed'. The United States repeatedly claimed after the summit that negotiations would pick back up immediately. 😂

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer released the findings of the investigation into a separate #shooting in Santa Ana on July 1, 2018. Donadony Blake Taylor, 46, was shot twice by one officer in the parking structure adjacent to Santa Ana police headquarters and Central Men’s Jail. Shortly before 11 p.m. Taylor had entered the lobby of the jail carrying a long metal pipe and two metal stakes. He left after Orange County sheriff’s staff told him to leave. Then, at about 11:30 p.m. he was spotted at the parking structure by a witness who saw him trying to break into cars while still carrying the metal objects. The witness called 911 and the officer who arrived — Officer Gavin Roelofs — commanded Taylor to put the pipe down. He did not comply so the officer discharged his Taser at Taylor who was not affected by the impact. Taylor appeared to reach for the Taser probes and pulled one out before the officer fired his weapon and hit the suspect twice. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m.👮🏻‍♂️

A sunfish that washed ashore in California has been positively identified as the newly discovered hoodwinker sunfish, previously thought to exist in the Southern Hemisphere. The extremely rare hoodwinker sunfish had never been seen in the Northern Hemisphere until it washed up dead last week at UC Santa Barbara's Coal Oil Point Reserve in Goleta. The pilot of the Laudamotion passenger jet had to abandon take-off after an engine failure as it was due to lift off en-route to Vienna shortly before 8pm. The Airbus A320 jet screeched to a halt and 169 passengers and the six crew members were evacuated down emergency slides (top right), forcing Air Traffic Controllers to halt all departures and arrivals. Anja Kohlfurst said passengers panicked as staff screamed 'evacuate' and 'jump'. She said: 'They were just screaming evacuate and jump and pushing people to the slides. We were just hearing a bang and we saw something that looked like an explosion.’ Passengers were then escorted to from the runway to the safety of the terminal (left, bottom right). The emergency incident delayed flights at the busy airport for three hours causing significant disruption to thousands of other passengers.
