An investigation is underway in Philadelphia after police found explosives and other suspicious cargo inside a van at Logan Circle on Wednesday night. Action News has learned that police recovered propane tanks, torches and possible dynamite sticks from the van.

Brett Favre is in President Trump’s corner. The three-time NFL MVP cast his support for Trump’s reelection bid on Friday. He tweeted his support for the president and made clear where he stands on some hot-button issues. “My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech & religion, 2nd Amnd, hard working tax paying citizens, police & military. In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me & these principles, my Vote is for @RealDonaldTrump,” he wrote. Favre joined the likes of golf legend Jack Nicklaus, ex-NFL quarterback Jay Cutler and rapper Lil’ Wayne, who recently expressed their support of the president.

Additional Pennsylvania National Guard arrived in Philadelphia on Friday to bolster protections after days of rioting following the police-involved shooting of a Black man. As Guardsmen arrived and organized themselves, at least one passerby kept shouting, “You are three days too late, where were you three days ago?!” Walter Wallace Jr. was shot Monday by two officers responding to a domestic call about someone with a weapon. Authorities said Wallace was armed with a knife and charged at the officers when he was shot. Looting and rioting became more prevalent on the second night, prompting Gov. Tom Wolf to authorize the deployment of National Guard troops as police struggled to contain the protests and riots that broke out across the city.

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT! Body camera footage has been released of last week’s incident where officers shot a Modesto homicide suspect at a Stockton park. Modesto police officers investigating a triple #shooting that left two people dead earlier in the month were led to Sherwood Park in Stockton on Oct. 20. There, they encountered suspect David Cummings, Jr. Police say Cummings was still in the vehicle used during the earlier triple shooting. The body camera footage reveals the tense seconds when officers confronted Cummings. Cummings could then be seen getting out of his car to run. While not immediately visible in the footage, police say Cummings then pulls out a handgun – prompting the officers to open fire. Less than 5 seconds passed between Cummings getting out and officers shooting. (Read the full story.)

Meanwhile, in Poland. Drone footage shows the scale of protests in Poland's capital Warsaw against a court ruling that further limited its restrictive abortion laws.

Mesa Police officials released video showing the moments after a drive-by shooting that left a baby dead. The shooting happened on the night of Oct. 16, in the area of Dobson and Guadalupe. Investigators say officers responded to a strip mall parking lot in the area at around 9:30 p.m. that day. At the time of the shooting, people had been gathered around some food trucks in the area for dinner. Everyone who had been shot were either food vendors or customers. Police say one of the food vendors started to shoot back at the suspect's car, which fled westbound on Guadalupe. It is not known if the suspect's car was struck. Anyone with information on the shooting should contact Mesa Police at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. Spanish speakers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Testigo Silencioso at 480-TESTIGO.

The Philadelphia Firefighters Union has voted to uphold its endorsement of President Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 presidential election. The American Arbitration Association, which represents the Internation Association of Firefighters Local 22, sent out ballots to its members two weeks ago and asked whether the firefighters in the union wanted to repeal the union’s endorsement of President Trump. After the ballots were filled out and returned, the union found that 1,400 of its members wanted to uphold the endorsement, while 782 members wanted to repeal public support for the president. Multiple police organizations and unions who represent first responders have shown public support for President Trump with endorsements over the last few months. “President Trump has made it crystal clear that he has our backs,” Fraternal Order of Police National President Patrick Yoes wrote in a statement.
