Police in Oakland, Calif. arrested several protesters for assaulting officers Friday night as demonstrations calling for justice for Breonna Taylor turned violent. The Oakland Police Department said more than 250 protesters in the downtown area became โ€œimmediately violentโ€ by throwing bottles and cans at officers.

A homeless black man shot dead by California police on Wednesday is a father-of-two, former bodybuilder who fell on hard times. Reinhold was killed during a struggle with two Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies in San Clemente that was caught on camera on Wednesday. The killing sparked protests on Thursday against police brutality which led to the city council imposing a curfew. Police said Reinhold was homeless and had moved to the Southern California town from nearby Los Angeles in the past month.

Footage has emerged of a police officer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office caught on camera using his riot shield to slam a Black Lives Matter protester who was already lying on the ground on Friday night. The footage shows the deputy forcefully using their riot shield to subdue a protester. The footage was shot in West Hollywood area of the city which saw more than 100 protesters gathered on Friday evening as they marched along Santa Monica Boulevard.

The Phoenix Police Department released a Critical Incident Briefing (CIB) video that includes audio, visuals and information related to an officer-involved #shooting which occurred the night of September 13, 2020 at 8:44 p.m. in the area of 29th Avenue and North Metro Parkway. The suspects in this incident are 15 and 16-year-old males. Because they are minors, their names will not be released. The victim in this case called 911 after being approached by two males in an apartment complex north of 31st Avenue and Dunlap. The two males pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the keys to his vehicle. The victim gave his keys to the suspects and they drove away in his vehicle. (Read the full story.)
