Oregon police were called to an ocean beach on the Fourth of July and arrested seven white adults they say harassed a Black family with racial slurs and Nazi salutes. The incident began with officers responding around 9:30 p.m. to a report of a group of people shooting off illegal fireworks and causing a disturbance. More officers arrived after the cops who initially responded were surrounded by the group, taunted and challenged to fights. Police said officers also spoke to the family who complained about the harassment and said they felt intimidated. The men arrested were: Gennadiy Kachankov, 30, Antoliy Kachankov, 28, Andrey Zaytsev, 28, Oleg Saranchuk, 45, Ruslan Tkachenko, 22, and Yuriy Kachankov, 30. A seventh man refused to identify himself, police said. All were from Clark County in Washington state. All were all charged with riot, interfering with police, disorderly conduct II, harassment, possession of illegal fireworks, and offensive littering.

Bodycam video has been released involving a man who died after a scuffle with BSO at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. An investigation has been launched.
San Diego police officers shot a man they say slipped out of handcuffs and grabbed a gun from the back of a police SUV. The incident happened Sunday at San Diego Police Department headquarters. Police said officers shot the man after he ignored demands to drop the weapon and fired one round at them. The 25-year-old Hispanic man was taken to a hospital for treatment and was expected to survive, Fox 5 San Diego reported. He was shot in the chest.
Atlanta police were able to track down and bust a fatal shooting suspect after a passing cyclist handed over his bike to help officers give chase, city officials announced. Officers from Atlanta Police Department were closing in on Nicholas Fonseca, on June 30, two days after 37-year-old Andrew Scott Callahan was fatally gunned down in the Fourth Ward neighborhood of the city. But as officers searching the area spotted Fonseca, 21, he immediately pedaled away on his own bike. The footage continues for more than three minutes as the officer and another cop catch up to Fonseca, who is seen on video lying on the sidewalk with his hands behind his back. Inmate records show Fonseca is currently booked at Fulton County Jail on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commissioner of a felony. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the bike was later returned to its owner.

A judge set a $1.2 million bail for the man accused of driving a Jaguar on to a closed Seattle freeway and hitting two protesters, killing one and seriously injuring the other. Dawit Kelete, who is Black, drove the car around vehicles that were parked on Interstate 5 to protect a group of Black Femme March demonstrators, part of the Black Lives Matter movement protesting racial inequality and police violence. The car hit two people and sped away about 1:40 a.m. Saturday. Over the weekend, a judge found probable cause to hold Kelete on an investigation of vehicular assault. But the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has yet to file charges against Kelete. It says it's waiting for additional required information from the State Patrol.

New York City emerged from another violent weekend that included 10 fatalities, including a father who was gunned down Sunday crossing the street with his 6-year-old daughter in broad daylight. Video showed Anthony Robinson, 29, with his daughter on their way back home to Brooklyn from the Bronx, according to local reports. Surveillance video shows a car pull up alongside them and open fire. The girl runs while Robinson collapses onto the street. ABC 7 NY reported that he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The girl was unharmed. “Mr. Robinson isn’t the only victim of that crime," he said. “That young girl is the victim of that crime, that community in the northeast part of the 4-4 Precinct is also a victim of that murder,” Chief Jason Wilcox said.
