Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander Major General Hossein Salami made the announcement about the naval directive while speaking with state press. Earlier, Iran mocked President Donald Trump for 'bullying' and 'spinning a Hollywood tale' of events after he threatened naval action against Iranian gunboats that were 'practicing defensive maneuvers'. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had instructed the U.S. Navy to fire on any Iranian ships that harass it at sea, a week after 11 vessels from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) came 'dangerously' close to U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf Waters.

Tucker: How did America become so dependent on China?
A former San Diego Padre-turned-police officer who was paralyzed from the neck down 17 years ago during an on-duty shooting died Thursday. Dan Waltersโ€™ death was announced by the San Diego Police Officers Association, which did not provide the cause or other details. He was 53. Walters was a catcher drafted by the Houston Astros in 1984 before eventually playing in the 1992 and 1993 seasons for the Padres. A spinal injury ended his career. In 84 career games, he had 64 hits in 273 at-bats, with a .234 batting average. Following his baseball career, he became a San Diego policeman in 1998. But in 2003, he was shot in the neck during a traffic stop of a domestic violence suspect and fell to the street, where a passing vehicle hit him, leaving him with two crushed cervical vertebrae. The gunman was shot and killed by his partner. Walters was paralyzed from the neck down except for some movement in his left hand. The San Diego Police Department said it lost "another hero who made the ultimate sacrifice." #RIP

A Massachusetts gun store owner, known as Mr. Gunrunner, is invoking higher authorities, namely God and President Trump, in his defiance of Gov. Charlie Baker's order to close shop amid the coronavirus pandemic. The state now has the third-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, with 46,023 positive cases โ€” behind New York and New Jersey respectivly. John Costa, owner of The Gunrunner in Middleborough, whose logo pays homage to the Second Amendment, is looking to the Constitution to defend his refusal to close his store, despite being issued a cease-and-desist order from the town on April 2. โ€œTheyโ€™re going to have to drag me out of here or kill me, one or the other,โ€ Costa told MassLive. โ€œTheyโ€™re not worried about the coronavirus. Theyโ€™re using that as a backdrop to put us Second Amendment people totally gone, out of business, and thatโ€™s the way it is.โ€ He said he won't comply with "this insane socialist governor" over the order.

Violent and property crimes in Baltimore are down amid the coronavirus pandemic.
President Donald Trump abruptly exited his daily White House press briefing Friday without taking a single question, after digging an increasingly deep hole over his comments about treating coronavirus patients with powerful disinfectants. The event lasted just 22 minutes, with Trump sharing the stage with other officials instead of holding court for up to two hours like he has on occasion. Trump's absence allowed him and his team to avoid tough questions about treating coronavirus patients by injecting disinfectant. Another possible factor was an internal struggle with the press. The White House had tried to bump CNN from its traditional front-row seat, only to be rebuffed by the White House Correspondents Association and individual reporters. Yahoo News reported minutes before the briefing that 'White House staff just came into the briefing room and informed the print pooler that they want them to swap seats w CNN. That would move CNN to the back row from the front.'

In the world of firearms and all the accessories that go with them, itโ€™s easy to jump to some false conclusions based on the pictures generally used. For instance, some holster manufacturers use pictures of a full-size compensated handgun for off-duty and/or concealed carry. Add in the mounted optic and the seemingly mandatory flashlight, and the representation is that the average concealed carry handgun is a combat weapon system. Those pictures often show the handgun with three to five spare magazines along with a trauma kit, knife, some rifle magazines and body armor. Is all of that shown just to make the handgun look cool? Is the manufacturer trying to sell the holster and everything else shown is just to look โ€œtacti-cool?โ€ What is realistic? We decided to examine those three different scenarios and take a look at what is commonly carried instead of what you might be lead to believe by the various marketing photos you see.
