The #coronavirus death toll in the US has now jumped to nine after test results for two people who died last week came back positive for the disease. All nine deaths have occurred in Washington state with at least six of them linked to the senior living facility, Life Care Center, in Seattle. Some staff may have been exposed to the virus while working in the intensive care unit where that patient was being treated but they don't believe that other patients were exposed, a hospital spokeswoman said. Officials have not yet determined how the senior living facility became the epicenter of where the majority of deadly cases have been linked to. North Carolina announced its first case on Tuesday after a man traveled to Washington state and visited the Seattle care facility where the outbreak has occurred. The jump in the death toll came as health officials promised to ramp up coronavirus testing across the US and vowed to test a million people by the end of the week.
Mike Bloomberg dramatically quit the presidential race Wednesday morning after a disastrous Super Tuesday and immediately backed Joe Biden. And Democrats are urging Elizabeth Warren to drop out as well after further pulling votes from both frontrunners Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders without winning any of the more than dozen states that cast their ballots. Warren even managed to come third in her own state of Massachusetts, leaving her campaign in crisis. Donald Trump mocks 'Mini Mike' Bloomberg for 'washing $700million down the drain' and declares the billionaire and Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren the biggest 'losers' of Super Tuesday. #losers
The number of #coronavirus cases in New York has now jumped to six after the wife, two children and neighbor of a Manhattan attorney who is currently hospitalized with the disease all tested positive. In total, the number of cases across the country have soared to more than 130 and nine people have now died from the disease in Washington state. New York cases soared to six on Wednesday after officials confirmed that the Manhattan attorney's wife, 20-year-old son, 14-year-old daughter and neighbor had all tested positive for coronavirus. The 50-year-old attorney, who lives in Westchester County and commutes to his midtown Manhattan law firm, was confirmed as the state's second case on Tuesday. He remains in a critical condition in intensive care at the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center on the Upper West Side. Health officials said the attorney has an underlying respiratory illness that potentially put him in more danger from the disease.

Los Angeles police are investigating an extreme road-rage incident that was partly captured in a video shared on social media. 'An arrest for Assault with a Deadly Weapon has been made in connection with this incident, which occurred Monday evening in the area of Victory Blvd & Laurel Canyon', #LAPD HQ said. A dog poop prank among friends nearly turned deadly after a driver, enraged by damage to his car, struck an innocent group of pedestrians in California. Police in Burlingame said they responded to Howard Avenue and Clarendon Road around 5:20 p.m. Saturday after an SUV reportedly crashed into four teenagers on the sidewalk. Two of the teens were seriously hurt, and two others suffered moderate injuries, police told the Mercury News. The driver, 18-year-old Omeed Adibi, of San Mateo, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. Lt. Laura Terada told the newspaper that Adibi targeted the teenagers after allegedly believing they had tampered with his car. She said he wanted to get back at them. However, the investigation later showed that it was a group of his own friends who had placed dog poop in his car as a prank on him. “It was a case of mistaken identity”.

(WARNING:21+) The Phoenix Police Department released a Critical Incident Briefing video related to an officer-involved shooting that happened on December 23, 2019. The incident happened at 11:00 in the morning, two days before Christmas, in a busy shopping…
The first caller was a woman who told dispatchers a man in his late 30s tried to take her car at gun point. She said as she drove away, the man shot her twice. Shortly after this incident, a second woman reported a man, later identified as 38-year-old Richard Ruiz, approached her red pick-up truck. She said Ruiz held her at gun point so she opened the driver side door and ran from her truck. Ruiz jumped into the driver seat, driving slowly around the parking lot. The carjacking victim feared he was coming after her and began screaming.

She moved toward a man who was walking into the nearby shopping center. Ruiz continued searching the parking lot for the woman as she hid between cars. The man rushed toward the business to get help for the woman. As he was entering the business, store surveillance shows Ruiz driving up to the entrance, firing his gun and hitting the man while two women were just a few feet away. At this point, Ruiz drove away and seconds later, the first police officers showed up. The male shooting victim was able to point officers in the direction of Ruiz. Officers followed Ruiz who circled around the parking. Approximately 60 seconds after first shooting the man, Ruiz circled back in front of the store and tried to target him again, while the wounded victim hid behind a concrete pillar for protection.

After this second confrontation with the victim, Ruiz drove off again and those same first responding officers tended to the shooting and carjacking victims. For the safety of the victims, they were placed in the patrol vehicle and taken to a nearby medical center for help. The physical injuries were not life threatening. While the victims were receiving medical assistance, other officers continued to pursue the suspect through the parking lot. During the pursuit an officer utilized his patrol vehicle, ramming the pick-up truck hoping to disable the vehicle. Unfortunately, the vehicle was not affected, and Ruiz continued to drive around. Ruiz finally stopped just south of the business and left through the driver's side door armed with a gun. Two officers fired their guns and struck Ruiz. Officers approached Ruiz and the weapon was moved away from him.

Officers began life saving measures as they waited for fire personnel. Firefighters pronounced Ruiz dead at the scene. Officers determined that there were three victims during this incident. Two had gunshot wounds including the man seen on the store surveillance video and woman who initially called 911. Their injuries were not life threatening. The third victim was the adult woman held at gun point while the suspect took the red truck. She was not physically injured. The involved officers are from the Maryvale/Estrella Mountain Precinct. The first officer is 29-years-old with 3 years of service and his partner is 40-years-old with 17 years of service. Both shooting officers were wearing body worn cameras (BWC) and they were both activated.

Bloomberg dropped out and I understand why. If you look at what happened in Texas, Bloomberg almost induced a loss for Biden in the state, and this would have been catastrophic for the Biden campaign. If Warren stays in, expect Bloomberg money to flow to Warren in attempts to siphon off votes from the Bernie campaign. Even if she drops out I still do not see a pathway to victory for Bernie. Also, It is no surprise that Bloomberg endorsed Biden.
⚠️ Los Angeles County Declares State of Emergency. Health officials in Los Angeles County declared a local and public health emergency in response to increased spread of #coronavirus across the country and six additional cases in LA County. Governor Gavin Newsom today issued the following statement regarding the death of a Placer County patient who is the first known COVID-19 death in the state: “Jennifer and I extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this death in Placer County. The state is working with federal officials to follow up on contact tracing of individuals that may have been exposed to provide treatment and protect public health. This case demonstrates the need for continued local, state and federal partnership to identify and slow the spread of this virus. California is working around the clock to keep our communities safe, healthy and informed.”
Mariam Taha Thompson, 61, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota, was charged today in the District of Columbia with transmitting highly sensitive classified national defense information to a foreign national with apparent connections to Hizballah, a foreign terrorist organization. According to Department of Justice the affidavit filed in support of a criminal complaint, the information Thompson gathered and transmitted included classified national defense information regarding active human assets, including their true names. By compromising the identities of these human assets, Thompson placed the lives of the human assets and U.S. military personnel in grave danger.
A New York family of five who are friends with the Manhattan attorney who infected his wife, two children and a neighbor have now also tested positive to coronavirus as 1,000 others that may have come into contact with him are ordered to self-quarantine. It comes as the US death toll from the coronavirus rose to 11 on Wednesday and the number of confirmed cases across the country surpassed 150. California recorded its first death on Wednesday after an elderly patient with underlying health conditions likely died following exposure on a Princess cruise to Mexico in early February. It is the first coronavirus death outside Washington state, where the 10 other patients have died - the majority linked to a nursing home near Seattle. Health officials in Los Angeles County - which has about 10 million residents - also declared a health emergency on Wednesday after six new cases were confirmed in less than 48 hours, bringing the total in the city to seven and raising the California state case figure to 35.
