The mayor of New York City has ordered the #NYPD to take immediate steps to protect key locations across the city after a U.S. airstrike killed Iran's top general, FOX 5 New York reports. Mayor Bill de Blasio said, "We will have to be vigilant against this threat for a long time to come." The security moves come after Tehran vowed "harsh retaliation" for the airstrike near Baghdad's airport that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Quds Force. De Blasio says there could be an attempt by Iran or "its terrorist allies" to target New York City. No specific details on security measures were made public but the city's sprawling subway system has always been feared as a soft-target. #NY

The Burlington Police Department has released officer body camera footage of an October 2018 incident in which officers tackled and apparently injured a Burlington man. The Oct. 6, 2018, footage shows officers chasing and tackling Mohamed Luhizo, who says in the footage that officers broke his tooth and can be seen spitting out blood after he is tackled. The footage was released following a request from the attorneys for Albin, Charlie and Jeremie Meli, and Mabior Jok, who sued the city for excessive force in May. Body camera footage in those September 2018 altercations showed officers pushing and tackling the men. According to the department, both Mohamed and Luhizo Luhizo were fighting with a group of people after the bars closed. As officers were trying to handcuff Luhizo, Mohamed shoved the officers and Luhizo kicked an officer in the chest and chin, injuring him, according to the department.

Texas Stabbing: At Least 1 Dead, 3 Injured in Austin. A man stabbed two people, one to death, inside a restaurant during a violent string of attacks Friday at a shopping plaza in Texas' capital city that began with an assault at a coffee shop and ended with the suspect leaping off a roof, police said. The attacks on a busy downtown avenue of restaurants and apartments just south of the Texas Capitol terrified customers stopping for their morning coffee on the way to work. It was the city of Austin's first homicide of 2020. Austin police Sgt. David Daniels said investigators don't know what provoked the suspect from striking a person inside a coffee shop before fleeing and stabbing two people inside Freebirds World Burrito a few doors down. The man, who was not identified, jumped off the roof of the restaurant but survived.
