NEW: Police have confirmed an officer-involved shooting following an incident that began on the 2000 block of Kleppe Lane Tuesday morning.

Sparks Nevada Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Kleppe Lane in Sparks on a vehicle driven by a suspect wanted on a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.

The suspect continued to flee from the area and struck a Reno Police Department patrol vehicle, injuring a Reno Police Department officer.

The Reno Police Department officer is being evaluated at a local hospital for injuries sustained during the incident and is in stable condition. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

A Batesville police officer is being recognized for his lifesaving actions this summer.

Lt. Danny Hamilton was among the first responders who were dispatched to a call of a man choking and not breathing on June 26.

Hamilton was the first to arrive and found the man laying in front of a couch.

He sat the man in an upright position and performed the Heimlich Maneuver. It successfully dislodged the food he was choking on and the man was able to breathe again.

BREAKING: Two people were killed, "numerous" people were injured and at least one person was trapped after an SUV collided with a Metro bus in the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. along Nordhoff Street in the Chatsworth area, according to Los Angeles Fire Department officials. Aerial footage showed an SUV that appeared to have almost driven through the Metro bus at the intersection of Nordhoff and De Soto Avenue.

"Firefighters are extricating the trapped patients and assessing all passengers on the bus," the LAFD release said.

At least one person is confirmed dead after a helicopter crashed near the scene of a deadly bus collision in Chatsworth on Tuesday evening. It is unknown who the helicopter belongs to.
