Officer Hambel passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2026, at the age of 51.

Ray began his career with the Lancaster Police Department on September 17, 2001, and dedicated more than 25 years to serving the Lancaster community. As one of the senior members of our department, Ray was a familiar face, a trusted coworker, and a beloved member of the Lancaster Police Department family.

A deputy police commissioner was supposed to promote public safety. Prosecutors say she helped her son escape after an alleged gang-related drive-by.

Jennifer Lackard, Mount Vernon’s now-former deputy commissioner of wellness, has been fired and charged with attempted murder, conspiracy, attempted assault, firearm possession, and reckless endangerment.

Authorities allege her 20-year-old son, Chase Lackard, fired several shots toward a group behind the Bronx Hall of Justice while his father drove the vehicle.

Praying for the Calgary Canada Police officer who was shot in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻

A Calgary Police officer was shot and is in stable condition after a traffic stop near Spruce Cliff.

According to police, the suspect fled through Edworthy Park, later carjacked another vehicle and drove it through the park until it became stuck. The suspect then continued fleeing on foot.

Officers pursued the suspect and later found him dead in the Bow River.

The Calgary Fire Department is assisting with the recovery, and police are searching the park for additional evidence.

NEW: Two off-duty police officers were among four victims injured in a fight Friday afternoon at a beach on the city's South Side.

The incident happened around 4:05 p.m. at 31st Street Beach in the 3100 block of South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police said.

The two off-duty officers, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, were with two other victims, men both age 22, when they were approached by two male offenders and two female offenders whose ages were not yet known, CPD said.

NEW: An Elizabeth police officer was injured Sunday evening after reportedly being assaulted during an incident at The Mills at Jersey Gardens.
 
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the mall, located at 651 Kapkowski Road.

Emergency reports indicated that the officer requested urgent assistance while allegedly being assaulted and told dispatchers that he was bleeding heavily.
 
Multiple police units rushed to the scene, where authorities reportedly took one person into custody.

The injured officer was treated by EMS for a reported laceration to the head. The extent of the officer’s injuries and whether hospitalization was required were not immediately available. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

Jordan was shot dead by CPD in March after a car chase. Jordan's estate is, predictably, suing Chicago.

On March 9, 2026, Jordan was at the wheel of a car CPD alleged was involved in a shooting earlier in the day.

Jordan fled CPD.

Jordan struck a pedestrian during flight from CPD.

Jordan then rammed a CTA bus and an unmarked CPD vehicle while attempting to evade officers.

Jordan repeatedly ignored lawful CPD orders to get out of the car.

A gun was found in Jordan's car.

Somehow, CPD is at fault for Jordan's death.
