Police have released bodycam video from two Texas cops who led a mentally-ill black man through the streets by a rope while they were mounted on horseback. Galveston officers Patrick Brosch and Amanda Smith arrested 43-year-old Donald Neely on a charge of criminal trespass on August 3, before deciding to transport him to the local station on foot as there were no squad cars in the vicinity. That decision sparked outrage, with authorities eventually deciding to release 36 minutes of footage from both of the officer's cameras, illuminating how the events unfolded. The video -released on Wednesday- shows how Brosch and Smith tied a rope around Neely's handcuffs after they had restrained him, before they ordered him to walk alongside their horses. 'We've just gotta do what we've gotta do,' Brosch is heard telling Neely, after Smith suggests that they should walk him to the station house. 👮🏻♂️

It's funny! Listen guys! In the USA, a plastic stick directed against a police officer is considered a threat to the cop’s life, and instead of a single bullet you get real lead rain. 👮🏻♂️ #HK

DONALD TRUMP has celebrated a "victory against the EU" as he introduces trade tariffs worth £6.5 billion on goods it imports from the European Union.
PUBLISHED: 12:00, Thu, Oct 3, 2019
The World Trade Organization gave Washington a green light to impose tariffs on $7.5 billion worth of EU goods annually as punishment for illegal aircraft subsidies. Mr Trump tweeted: "The US won a $7.5billion award from the World Trade Organisation against the European Union, who has for many years treated the USA very badly on trade due to tariffs, trade barriers, and more. This case going on for years, a nice victory!"
The US was hoping to impose tariffs of around £9 billion in goods.
The WTO reduced this figure by around a third, but it was still the largest penalty in the organisation’s history.
US trade officials said levies would be set at a 10 percent rate for aircraft and 25 percent on agricultural and other items.

BREAKING: knife armed man attacked police officers on police station in Paris, France, two officers injured, suspect was shot dead 👮🏻♂️
The recent outbreak of vaping-related lung injuries was most likely caused by direct exposure to toxic chemical fumes, according to a significant Mayo Clinic finding into the recent outbreak which has left more than 800 people hospitalized and 17 others dead. Mayo researchers in a report published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine said a first-ever examination of 17 biopsies from patients afflicted with vaping-related lung injuries showed no evidence of oil or lipid contamination which had been the suspected culprit behind the outbreak. The Mayo doctors, however, say they found the lung injuries consistent with 'direct lung toxicity from an inhaled noxious agent or agents,' similar to when someone is exposed to a toxic chemical spill, or when World War I soldiers breathed in deadly mustard gas, reports the Star Tribune. 🌬☠️ #vaping

A Virginia doctor who prescribed more than 500,000 doses of opioids in two years was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Wednesday for leading what prosecutors called an interstate drug distribution ring. The overprescription of painkillers is one of the roots of the nation’s opioid crisis, and patients of Dr. Joel Smithers traveled hundreds of miles from neighboring states to pick up oxymorphone, oxycodone, hydromorphone and fentanyl, according to law enforcement officials. They said he prescribed controlled substances to every patient in the Martinsville, Va., practice he opened in August 2015. Dr. Smithers, 36, was convicted of more than 800 counts of illegally prescribing opioids, and jurors found that the drugs he prescribed caused the death of a woman from West Virginia. He faced a maximum sentence of life in prison. 💊
