Expert: Teen 'takeovers' strain police as Towson Town Center vacancies rise.
Law enforcement expert and National Police Association spokesperson Sgt. Betsy Smith says teen 'takeovers' are happening across the nation, taking up police resources, and potentially creating dangerous situations.
"We've got to look at this as an overall community problem and address it as such," Sgt. Betsy Smith said. "We've got to stop saying βOh, these are kids being kids.' These gatherings can be dangerous. Very often, there is gang activity, and it also can prevent businesses from continuing to do business, which then affects the entire community."

The LA political class can scoff at Spencer Pratt all it wants. California has a long, perfectly consistent history of throwing its credentialed incumbents in the bin the moment those incumbents earn it, and the establishment never sees it coming.
In 1966 Ronald Reagan was a B-movie actor with zero political experience. The serious people laughed. He then proceeded to demolish two-term incumbent Pat Brown, who was supposed to be unbeatable. In 2003, after Gray Davis presided over rolling blackouts and a budget meltdown, voters recalled him and replaced him with a bodybuilder turned action star, who then won reelection in a landslide. Twice the smart set was absolutely certain a celebrity outsider could not win a serious race in California. Twice they were embarrassed in public.
Now look at where Karen Bass is. The Palisades burned. The city is roughly a billion dollars underwater. The LA Times, not exactly a Breitbart affiliate, calls this the toughest reelection any LA incumbent has faced in decades.
Bass is polling at 25 percent. Pratt, a guy who lost his own house in the fire and has never held office, is already at 11. Forty percent of voters are undecided, which in plain English means forty percent of voters do not want Karen Bass and are waiting to see who they like better.
The lesson California keeps teaching, and the political class keeps refusing to learn, is that the resume on the wall does not matter when the city is infested with homeless zombies, fraud, and towns literally on fire. Voters will pick a guy from The Hills over a career politician if the career politician clearly isnβt capable of keeping the city safe. You can call that unserious. You can call it celebrity politics, the death of the republic, whatever you want. The voters do not care. And on the available evidence, they are not wrong.

Texas: Three people, including a Houston police officer, were injured in a crash on the Katy Freeway at Beltway 8 on Sunday morning, authorities say.
According to the Houston Police Department, an officer and a wrecker driver responded to a driver who needed help on the Katy Freeway near Beltway 8 at about 2:50 a.m. on Sunday. Officials said the driver was a woman who had four children in her vehicle.
Authorities said the officer and the wrecker driver were helping the woman put gas in her vehicle when a blue Honda Accord hit the officer's vehicle, causing injuries to the officer, the wrecker driver, and the woman.
Investigators said the officer and the wrecker driver suffered minor injuries, but added that the woman had more severe injuries to her leg. The four children in the woman's vehicle were not injured, authorities said, adding that family members came to pick up the children from the scene.
The officer, the wrecker driver, and the woman were taken to a local hospital, where, according to officials, none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recoveryππ»
The suspect driving the blue Honda Accord was arrested for DWI, according to police.
