Instagram has gone down again for what feels like βthe millionth timeβ this summer, according to disgruntled users. The site had been experiencing spotty troubles since the early morning hours on Thursday, but it all came to a head around 11:30 am (ET) when the outages appeared to spike. Thousands of reports have since come in from the US and UK, along with parts of Russia, Malaysia, and India. On the app, users have been stuck unable to refresh their feeds.
The Trump administration is planning to send 500 U.S. troops to Saudi Arabia to bolster the kingdom's defenses against Iran. CNN reported Thursday that the Prince Sultan Air Base, in a desert east of Riyadh, will get a Patriot missile battery and an upgraded airfield runway. A small number of troops and support staff are already there. The Pentagon intends to fly stealth F-22 Raptor jets and other aircraft from the base. Its remote location is thought to be difficult for Iranian missiles to strike.

Trump said the drone was threatening a U.S. ship and was "immediately destroyed.β He said it came within 1,000 yards and ignored "multiple calls to stand down. This is the latest of many provocative and hostile actions by Iran against vessels operating in international waters," the president said. "The United States reserves the right to defend our personnel, facilities, and interests." He called on other countries to condemn Iran's "attempts to disrupt freedom of navigation and global commerce" Trump said. π₯

Kevin Spacey's legal woes are not over, despite the collapse of the only criminal case brought against the two-time Oscar winner since he became mired in sexual misconduct allegations. The former House of Cards star is still being investigated in London and Los Angeles over several allegations and faces a federal lawsuit alleging he assaulted a massage therapist, Associated Press reports. 'Just because this case may have fallen apart, that does not necessarily hamper another investigation or another prosecution,' said Adam Citron, a former prosecutor who now works as a criminal defense attorney in New York.

Rep. Ilhan Omar has blasted President Donald Trump in her home district, one day after his supporters chanted 'send her back' of the congresswoman. 'Welcome home Ilhan!' the crowd chanted on Thursday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as she arrived from Washington DC. 'It feels good to be home,' Omar said into a bullhorn at the airport telling the crowd that Trump's policies are 'fascist' and vowing to be a 'nightmare' for him. Omar later held a town hall about 'Medicare for all' in her Minneapolis district. Trump started the week's tumult by tweeting Sunday that Omar and three other freshmen congresswomen could 'go back' to their native countries if they were unhappy here. The president did not back down from his criticism of Omar on Thursday. They have 'a big obligation and the obligation is to love your country,' he said. 'There's such hatred. They have such hatred.' π #fools

Terrifying cockpit footage has emerged of the moment a Boeing 737 ploughed into the Pacific Ocean after its frantic pilot yelled 'we're too low!'. The air crash investigation video was released yesterday after the Air Niugini jet ditched 1,500ft from a runway in Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, last September. One passenger died and another nine were injured in the crash in which 34 passengers managed to scramble to safety from the Chuuk Lagoon off Weno island. The investigation in Papua New Guinea has found the pilots ignored numerous 'pull up' warning lights and alarms as it came in to land. βοΈπ±
A 'drone-killer' buggy chained to the deck of the USS Boxer is believed to be behind the attack which brought down an Iranian drone. The buggy uses highly sensitive radar to detect small incoming targets and then deploys signal blocking technology to sever the link between the drone and its control tower, causing it to fall from the sky. If the signal-jammer fails, then the buggy's radar technology can be used to direct conventional missiles towards the same target to finish it off. Pictures of the Boxer taken on July 17 as it made its way towards the Strait of Hormuz show the system - officially known as the Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System - on the flight deck. The system is comprised of two parts - the RADA RPS-42 radar system, and the CM202A sensor turret with infrared video cameras.π₯

Iran has accused the US of taking out one of its own drones by mistake after Donald Trump said the Navy had destroyed an unmanned craft over the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran's deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi flatly denied reports that any of its drones had been destroyed, either 'in the Strait of Hormuz nor anywhere else'. 'I am worried that USS Boxer has shot down their own UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) by mistake!' he tweeted on Friday. π³ #WTF?
