A new experiment confirms the existence of “superionic ice,” a bizarre form of water that might comprise the bulk of giant icy planets throughout the universe.

The discovery of superionic ice potentially solves the puzzle of what giant icy planets like Uranus and Neptune are made of. They’re now thought to have gaseous, mixed-chemical outer shells, a liquid layer of ionized water below that, a solid layer of superionic ice comprising the bulk of their interiors, and rocky centers.

Mandeep Singh, 37, of Texas, reportedly killed his two young children, Ajit Singh, four, and Mehar Birring, three, before setting their bodies on fire and fatally shooting himself on Sunday. The Cooke County Sheriff’s Office identified the dad as Mandeep Singh, of Fort Worth, who they believe killed his four-year-old son, Ajit Singh Birring, and daughter, three-year-old Mehar Kaur Birring. Officials said they received a call that a vehicle was on fire in the middle of the roadway in rural northwest Cooke County on Sunday. The fire department responded, extinguished the fire and located the remains of the two children in the back seat.

A helicopter fell short of a landing pad in Manhattan and was submerged in the Hudson River on Wednesday afternoon. A source told @police_frequency in the Telegram that the pilot, 35-year-old Eric Morales, was alone in the helicopter when it made an unexplained descent into the water running along Manhattan's West Side. Morales was rescued from the river by a barge, having sustained a cut to one hand. A person working at the helipad also suffered non-life-threatening injuries from debris dislodged in the crash.
