⚠️ #WANTED! Atlanta police on Sunday were seeking a suspect who set a Wendy’s on fire amid unrest over the deadly police shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks on Friday night, as officials raced to prevent any further violence from erupting in their city. A photo from the Atlanta Police Department showed the arson suspect wearing all black, with the person’s face largely covered. Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta was offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the arson suspect. The Saturday-night fire capped off a day of protests outside the restaurant where Brooks was killed. Police said they arrested at least 36 people during Saturday night’s protests. A group of protesters started forming around the Atlanta Police Department Headquarters Sunday afternoon chanting “police the police”.
A Tulsa, Okla., man was arrested after police say he left his two children inside a locked truck for five hours. Dustin Lee Dennis, 31, is facing two counts of second-degree murder after his children, who were both under the age of five, were pronounced dead at his home, according to an arrest report. Dennis told police he drove to QuikTrip with his children around noon and then returned to his home in the 1700 block of East 61st Street South, according to an arrest report. A family member identified the children Sunday as Teagan, 4, and Ryan, 3, Dennis. Dennis then fell asleep for four to five hours and when he woke up, he couldn’t find his children. Dennis told police he found his children in the floorboard of the truck and then moved the children to the living room where paramedics pronounced the children dead, according to an arrest report.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation officer was found shot to death Sunday morning and three suspects are now in custody, investigators say. Julian Keen Jr, 30, was off-duty at the time of shooting. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene early Sunday morning in LaBelle – about 55 miles northeast of Cape Coral -- and found Keen, the Hendry County Sheriff’s office said. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Twitter that Keen was killed while “taking action off-duty on a hit and run crash.” Three suspects were in custody and under investigation. No additional information was provided. The Florida Highway Patrol Command Officers Association described Keen as “a genuine officer who would literally give his shirt off his back to ANYONE who needed it.” Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. #RIP
