Pennsylvania -- A Jefferson Hills officer injured in a violent crash earlier this month has died. Police Chief Gene Roach said Officer Dale Provins succumbed to his injuries Saturday. Provins was severely injured during an on-duty collision June 3 along the 200 block of Old Clairton Road. Police responded to the area around 8:15 a.m. for reports of a rollover crash. A preliminary investigation shows the police officer was driving northbound, and the other vehicle southbound. Officials said the head-on crash occurred in the northbound lane. The crash resulted in both drivers, who were driving alone, to become trapped in the wreckage for a time. Roach said Provins was a beloved member of department and a 15-year veteran. “Dale’s colleagues in the department and in the borough admired him, his sense of humor and kindness. Losing one of our own is extremely difficult. Our condolences go out to Dale’s family and friends; we share in their grief,” the chief said. #RIP

A British search and rescue team has found the wreckage of a U.S. Air Force F-15C Eagle that crashed into the North Sea off the coast of England during a routine training exercise Monday morning. The plane is part of the 48th Fighter Wing, which is based at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, located 70 miles northeast of London. As of midday Monday, its pilot "is still missing, and search and rescue efforts continue," the unit said in a tweet. The cause of the crash remains unknown. Col. William Marshall, its commander, earlier said the Air Force "remain hopeful that our liberty wing airman will be located and recovered." The 48th Fighter Wing has played a key role in anti-terrorism operations, flying combat missions, and providing combat support in both Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. RAF Lakenheath is the largest U.S. Air Force-operated base in England.

A Texas bodybuilder who federal prosecutors say is “tied publicly with the anti-government Boogaloo movement” and tried to stir up “guerrilla warfare” against the National Guard has been charged with running a steroid trafficking ring. Philip Russell Archibald, 29, of Lancaster, is now facing up to a decade in federal prison if convicted of conspiring to sell steroids, according to the United States Attorney's Office Northern District of Texas. He is currently being held at a jail outside of Dallas. “At Mr. Archibald’s detention hearing, prosecutors argued that the defendant posed a threat to the community, noting that the defendant, who has been tied publicly with the anti-government Boogaloo movement, used his social media accounts to advocate vigilante ‘guerrilla warfare’ against the National Guardsman patrolling Black Lives Matter protests,” the office said in a statement.

Two police officers and one civilian were injured in an exchange of gunfire in the southwest of Moscow on Monday, the Russian capital's police said in a statement. "Today, in the area of house 156 on Leninsky Avenue, traffic police officers stopped a taxi for violating the rules of the road. A passing citizen fired at the police officers allegedly from a traumatic weapon, as a result of which the two policemen were injured," it said in a statement. The wounded policemen used service firearms to shoot at the attacker, injuring him and having him detained, the statement said. Currently, a group of investigators and policemen are working at the scene of the incident, establishing its circumstances, it added. The Russian Investigative Committee said in a separate statement it had opened a criminal case on the grounds of an encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers.

Maine State Police Trooper Mickael Nunez was treated Sunday night for a severely broken leg after he was hit by a car that was involved in a high-speed pursuit. Trooper Mickael Nunez, a three-year member of the state police, was listed in stable condition at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta after the fleeing car struck him Sunday afternoon on Route 3 in China near the Family Dollar Store. At the time, Nunez had been setting up spike strips to deflate the tires on a green sports car operated by Robert Belmain, 53, of Caribou, state police said. Belmain, who crashed his car after the collision, was flown from MaineGeneral by Lifeflight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment of head injuries. Once Belmain is released from the hospital he will face charges of operating under the influence, driving to endanger, criminal speed, eluding a police officer, failing to submit to arrest.
