A mayor in San Luis Potosí has announced the purchase of 15 of the modernistic new Cybertrucks manufactured by Tesla Inc., Mexico News Daily reports. Adrian Esper Cardenas of Ciudad Valles said he reserved the trucks by making a deposit of US $1,500 with his own money, equal to a month’s salary. Esper said he did not consult his constituents about the purchase but said his decision to buy the electric vehicles for police, trash collection and other uses was “common sense.” #facepalm

A New York City man narrowly missed being crushed beneath a subway train after a hammer-wielding attacker making homophobic comments fought with and then tossed a 21-year-old straphanger onto the tracks before fleeing the station, officials said. The New York Police Department said the incident happened Nov. 11 at 1 a.m. at the Tremont Avenue B/D Train subway station in the Bronx, reported FOX News. The victim told police he was waiting on the northbound platform when a man began making anti-gay statements to him and then attempted to hit him with a hammer but missed. "The individual continued to struggle with the victim and threw him onto the train track," police said. A group of Good Samaritans nearby were able to alert the motorman to stop the arriving train and prevent a potential tragedy. The 21-year-old was then helped back up onto the platform. The #NYPD on Tuesday released a sketch of the suspect wanted in the attack. #WANTED #NY

Nashville police are investigating a privately operated juvenile detention center where four teens, including two accused of murder, were able to escape through the front door, police said Monday. Two of the four teens, including one charged with murder, were found and rearrested on Tuesday night in Madison, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville.

A California police officer is under investigation for allegedly fondling a dead woman’s breasts, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed on Tuesday. An LAPD spokesman told Fox News that no additional information is being released, but said an administrative investigation has been initiated. He also said the officer has been placed on paid leave and his police powers have been removed during the investigation. The veteran Los Angeles cop, who is assigned to downtown’s Central Division, was caught on his own body-cam footage allegedly fondling the dead woman, and his supervisors have reviewed the video, according to the Los Angeles Times. The incident was captured on video -- even though the officer deactivated his camera -- because of a 2-minute buffer on the device, according to the LA Times. LAPD Assistant Chief Robert Arcos called the video “very disturbing,” the newspaper reported. #WTF?
