NEW: Dearborn Heights police have impounded a Cadillac CT5-V that investigators say blocked Warren Avenue and performed donuts during a wedding celebration in late July. Police are working to identify several other vehicles involved. Mayor Mo Baydoun said the city will continue tracking down drivers who stop traffic to perform reckless stunts, saying they put innocent motorists at risk.

Deputies respond to all types of calls and need to be prepared for just about any encounter. This morning, Deputies were called to the Elk City Cemetery due to a fawn that had been caught in the fence. With a little bit of teamwork, the fawn was freed from the fence. Deputies attempted to corral the fawn to have an animal control officer check on it, but it ran into the field. Deer are noted to be incredibly resilient; however, and it is expected to re-grow its hair and make a full recovery.

This all started after multiple callers reported a driver who appeared to be impaired, passed out behind the wheel and inhaling from compressed air cans while driving. Officers located the vehicle and observed the driver continue inhaling from a can before attempting a traffic stop.

The driver didn’t stop. Instead, he continued driving, struck a curb, accelerated, and nearly drove into a yard. With the driver’s actions creating an immediate danger to others on the road, Officer Cooke deployed the Grappler and successfully brought the vehicle to a stop. 💪

The Senate Homeland Security Committee voted 8 to 7 to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress.

Americans have waited YEARS for answers about the federal COVID response and the origins of the virus.

When Fauci was subpoenaed to testify, he repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment instead of answering those questions.

Chairman Rand Paul has now sent the contempt referral to the Justice Department.

Fauci’s attorney says he lawfully exercised his constitutional rights. Whether the committee can proceed without a full Senate vote may also be challenged.

Harris County's eight elected constables will soon make more than U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

Commissioners Court voted Thursday 4-1 to increase the constables' salaries to $305,000, the fourth in a series of raises that have more than doubled their pay in just three years.

The constables have significant political power, in part because they are immensely popular with the many neighborhoods they patrol on dedicated contracts, and they have influence in the Texas Legislature.

The National Police Association Endorses the Deputy Darren Almendarez Act.

Darren Almendarez was a Harris County (Texas) off-duty sheriff's deputy who was slain as he attempted to stop three suspects from stealing the catalytic converter from his truck. Rep. Brandon Gill (TX-26) has introduced a federal bill named in his honor that is designed to fight catalytic converter theft. The bill is co-led by Congressman Lou Correa (CA-46).
