San Bernardino County Fire remains in unified command with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
With a break in the weather this morning, crews were strategically placed in neighborhoods that were severely impacted by the storm to help with recovery efforts. Evening update will contain more information.

BREAKING: President Trump says the U.S. launched airstrikes in Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants he accused of killing Christians, calling the operation decisive and warning further attacks would follow if the violence continues.

Rest in Peace, Corporal Matthew Tyler “Ty” Snook with the Delaware State Police. End of Watch: December 23, 2025.

Corporal Snook served for almost 11 years and is survived by his wife and one-year-old daughter. He was 34.

The FBI sends our prayers and condolences to Corporal Snook’s family, friends, and colleagues left behind. They will have our full support.

Watch: Aerial drone footage shows the magnificent size of the hwy 229 landalide in Siletz,Oregon. The recent Siletz landslide is described as "massive," blocking a quarter-mile of Oregon 229, destroying three homes, and being one of the largest ODOT has seen, with officials calling it "pure devastation," though precise volume measurements aren't specified in initial reports, only its a huge impact and potentially a multi-month closure.

As of this afternoon, LA County Public Works will be extending its evacuation orders for the county’s burn scar areas through Friday, December 26 at 1 P.M.

Remember, flash flooding may develop quickly and can cause mudflows/debris flows. Never attempt to cross flooded roads as debris flows can carry large rocks, trees, and other materials, causing severe damage.

Prayers for the Florida State Trooper who was seriously injured in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻

A trooper was injured Christmas Day after a pursuit on Interstate 95 in Brevard County ended in a crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The trooper was trying to pull over the driver of a Mercedes-Benz who was driving recklessly in the southbound lanes of the interstate in Titusville, FHP said.

The Mercedes-Benz and the FHP patrol car ran off the roadway and hit the guardrail after the trooper performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle, according to FHP.
The trooper was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both the driver and the passenger of the Mercedes-Benz were both taken into custody. Charges against the driver are pending. According to FHP, the passenger has an active warrant out of Broward County.
