At 2 a.m., a 13-year-old boy in South Carolina picked up the phone and dialed 911. But it wasnโ€™t for a fire, a robbery, or an emergency like youโ€™d expect. He told the dispatcher, โ€œIโ€™m tired of sleeping on the floor.โ€...

Let that sink in. In one of the richest countries on earth, a childโ€™s โ€œemergencyโ€ was not having a bed.

When Officer Gaetano Acerra responded, he thought it was a prank, or maybe just something minor.

But what he walked into crushed him.

Bare walls. No furniture. No decorations.

Just a deflated air mattress in the corner and a boy sitting there, exhausted, slumped over like life had already beaten him down at 13 years old.

The boyโ€™s grandmother, who Loved him, simply couldnโ€™t afford more than the basics: food and rent.

Survival, not comfort.

And yet this child still had the courage to call 911, not for money, not for toys, but just for a chance to feel like he mattered.

Many officers may have filed a report and moved on.

But Acerra couldnโ€™t shake the image of that room out of his mind.

Three days later, he came back, not with paperwork, but with a truck full of furniture.

A bed with fresh sheets.

A desk and chair for homework.

Lamps, decorations and even a Nintendo Wii.

The boyโ€™s face when he saw his new room?

Pure joy. His four bare walls turned into a sanctuary.

For the first time, perhaps ever, he felt like he mattered.

And hereโ€™s the part that should make every single one of us think: it didnโ€™t take a millionaire, a celebrity or the government to fix this.

It took one cop who cared enough to do something.

Officer Acerra said it best: โ€œSometimes you just know whatโ€™s right.โ€๐Ÿ’™

Republican Candidate Takes the Lead in the race for California Governor.

The countdown is on, less than six months to go until California voters head to the polls and select the two candidates who will face of in the November 2026 General Election for California Governor.

This week, new polling shows a Republican in the lead, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco - though the race at the top is tight, with four candidates separated by just two percent.

Bianco is followed by Congressman Eric Swalwell (D), Steve Hilton (R), and Former Congresswoman Katie Porter (D). With more on who's up, who's down, and the state of the race to succeed Gavin Newsom, Micah Ohlman and Cher Calvin are joined by "Inside California Politics" host Nikki Laurenzo.

The 2nd amendment is non-negotiable.

I'm honored to have the endorsement of the California Rifle & Pistol Association.

โ€œBut while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.โ€

Yesterday in Polk County, a driver thought he could flee from Florida Highway Patrol and take out troopers in the process - he failed spectacularly. After a successful PIT maneuver and arrest, FHP recovered 150 pounds of marijuana and $40,000 from his vehicle. This incident underscores the dangers troopers face every day to protect our communities and keep our roads safe.

I just watched a woman who gave 35 years of her life to the State of Florida.

Her badge # read 100.

She wasnโ€™t a DEI hire. She wasnโ€™t pushed in by politics or quotas.

She was hired because she was competentโ€ฆ disciplinedโ€ฆ and built for the job.

And after 35 years, she was able to retire with honor in a Republican-controlled state.

A state that still values law enforcementโ€ฆ a state that rewards service instead of punishing it.
Tallahassee may lean Democrat as a city, but the Highway Patrol she served under operates in a Republican-led state that protects order, merit, and courage.

Lieutenant Thompson, I salute you. Thank you for your service and your unwavering dedication.

Can we all give this woman a thank you, an amen, or a salute?

BREAKING: Court records say Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, NC, arrested Oscar Solarzano in connection with yesterdayโ€™s stabbing on the light rail. He is being held on no bond

Solarzano, whose address is listed as the Roof Above homeless center, is charged with attempted first degree murder, AWDW serious injury, breaking/entering a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and intoxicated and disruptive. In court paperwork, Magistrate Rebecca Howell, who ordered Solarzano held on no bond, said Solarzano is in the country illegally and has been deported before.

The warrant says he appeared to be intoxicated on the train when he challenged the victim to a fight. The warrant says he used slurred and unintelligible words and attacked the victim with a large fixed blade knife.

The affidavit isnโ€™t online yet and will have more information. As of 9:30 am, CMPD hasnโ€™t released details on the attack or said whether the suspect and victim knew each other. CATS has not said whether PSS, the company that provides security for CATS, was on board the train at the time of the attack. Solarzanoโ€™s B&E charge says he โ€œbroke intoโ€ the light rail trainโ€” Iโ€™m not sure what this means in this context and whether this is a fancy way of saying he didnโ€™t pay his fare. CATS hasnโ€™t released that information.

Solarzano does not have any prior criminal history listed on Portal.

Heโ€™s due in court Monday at 10 am before Judge Keith Smith.
