New York: An inmate at Marcy Correctional Facility attacked and injured an officer who tried to stop him from running down the facility walkway on Oct. 3.

According to the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, the officer saw the inmate running and ordered him to stop.

The inmate then allegedly lunged at the officer, knocking him backward.

Despite attempts to subdue the inmate with pepper spray, the officer was knocked down again before successfully restraining him with the help of another officer.
