Rest in Peace, Police Officer Didarul Islam of the New York City Police Department — who died in the line of duty during yesterday’s tragic shooting in Manhattan. End of Watch: July 28, 2025.

Officer Islam had been with the NYPD’s 47th precinct for over 3 years. During the shooting, he had been working security for the building, acting quickly and heroically putting himself in harm’s way to defend others.

Officer Islam leaves behind two young sons and his wife, who is pregnant with their third child.

GREAT JOB by the Minneapolis Police Department. Officers spotted a woman struggling with a flat tire. She’d been watching YouTube videos for nearly an hour trying to figure out how to get the wheel off. The officer stepped in and helped her out. Well done.

We need your support for Deputy Matt Kirchner, who was seriously injured in a duty-related accident around 10 PM on July 27, 2025. While responding to an incident in Halls, his cruiser was hit head-on by another vehicle. Deputy Kirchner, named this week's Home Town Hero, suffered a dislocated tibia/fibula, three fractures in his left ankle, bruised ribs, and multiple lacerations. After undergoing surgery, he faces a long recovery ahead. Fortunately, his trainee officer was unharmed, and the other driver's injuries are still being assessed.

Deputy Kirchner and his family need our help as they deal with his inability to work, missed work for family members, and unexpected expenses. Let's come together to support them during this difficult time.

A Minnesota State Trooper had minor injuries when a driver struck his marked squad car while he was assisting with traffic control on Highway 53 in St. Louis County.

The crash happened around 11:10 a.m. on July 28 as the trooper was temporarily stopping traffic with emergency lights activated.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle hit the parked squad car at highway speeds, spinning it roughly 75 feet from the point of impact.

The driver who struck the squad was cited for failing to obey an emergency vehicle and taken for a medical evaluation.
