LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva: This morning, we gathered to show our support to retired LASD HQ Sergeant Jeannie Ramirez who is battling breast cancer. During her tenure with LASD East LA station, Sgt. Ramirez immersed herself in the East Los Angeles community and became endeared by those she served as well as by station staff. Deputies are rallying together to help as much as they can.
Awareness about this terrible disease is crucial and increased attention should be focused on it during breast cancer awareness month.
