A 26-year-old man was captured on surveillance footage wielding a knife as he walked into the 75th New York Police Department precinct in the East New York neighborhood of Brooklyn and begged for officers to shoot him on Sunday. The man who is said to have bipolar disorder allegedly told police: 'The government is f**king me. I want you to shoot me.' Officers shocked him with a Taser instead, after which he asked: 'Why didn't you shoot me? I'm too chicken to kill myself.' The man was arrested and taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The man will not be charged with a crime. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ#taser #NYPD

An Illinois cop was recorded in a disturbing video choking a man who was arrested after they received a tip off that he had a 'load of drugs' in his vehicle over the weekend. Officer fired a stun gun at McDowell by which point he appeared to be unconscious. Illinois prohibits officers from using chokeholds following a 2015 law. The move is illegal 'unless deadly force is justified'. The ordeal occurred nearly a week after NYPD police officer Daniel Pantaleo was fired from his department for the 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner. Pantaleo had been on desk duty ever since he placed Garner, a 43-year-old black father-of-six, who was stopped for allegedly selling loose cigarettes, in a fatal chokehold five years ago. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #Taser

The Salinas Police Department in California reported that Mariel Capulong, 22, took a 43-year-old person hostage in their lobby on Wednesday but they were able to de-escalate the situation in as little as a minute and 10 seconds using clever tactics. But at one point Capulong appears to wail after a cop verbally deescalates the situation then quickly uses the stun gun on her, causing the assailant to momentarily release the victim and giving law enforcement the opportunity to rush in. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #taser

The Tempe Police Department says an officer used a Taser on a domestic violence suspect earlier this year while the suspect was holding his one-year-old child. Officers were called to the home for a domestic violence situation and located Ivaughn Oakry. Police say they entered the home and attempted to speak to Oakry, but he was verbally aggressive and non-compliant with officers. Oakry picked up the one-year-old during the confrontation and refused to put the child down. At that point, officers say they chose to deploy Tasers on Oakry. Oakry then fell onto a pile of clothing while still holding the child. Officers were able to take the child from Oakry at that point, as he continued to resist arrest. Firefighters responded to the scene and advised the child was not injured and was not hit by any Taser barbs, ABC 15 reported. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #taser

(WARNING 21+) A stunning video recorded on a Sonoma County sheriffโ€™s deputyโ€™s bodycam was released Friday of a fatal confrontation with carjacking victim David Ward, who was forcibly dragged through the window of his vehicle last month when he was mistaken for the thief and died after being choked during his apprehension. The sheriffโ€™s office initially delayed releasing the video following a public records act request from The Press Democrat to disclose it. According to the sheriffโ€™s office, the video was held because disclosing it earlier would interfere with the ongoing internal investigation. Ward called Santa Rosa police on Nov. ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #taser

Buffalo police officials say a pilot program is being tested by the department that gives tasers to officers in the B District. Police say officers were dispatched to a home on the west side of Buffalo Wednesday night around 11:40 p.m. According to officers, two people inside the home were trying to calm down a man who had a knife. At one point, the video shows the man lunged at the officers while they were inside the kitchen. The officers ran back into the living room, where they continued to talk to the man. One officer then drew a taser, asking the man to drop the knife. The man eventually complied with the officer's request. Buffalo police officials say the pilot program being tested by the department saved the life of the man in the video. In a normal situation, police say they would have possibly used a gun. Both officers are being heralded by the department for their restraint.๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ #taser

Itโ€™s not often you see something like this at the terminal. A wild brawl between a traveler and police officers that involved the usage of a Taser was caught on video this week as passengers were waiting to board their flights at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas. โ€œI really hope that whatever was going on with this guy, it was a moment in time,โ€ John Huston, the bystander who reportedly captured the footage, said in an interview with Fox 4. Police told the station they were called to the airport Thursday afternoon after receiving a report of a man shoving an airline employee. When they arrived, authorities say the suspect โ€” identified as Jerome Toson Jr. โ€” started arguing with the officers and took a swipe at one of them. #taser
