Today, Deputy Fite and Korzonek were assigned to do an honor guard cordon for the surviving families, arriving at the candlelight vigil with multiple outside agencies throughout the nation.

In observance of #peaceofficersmemorialday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department honors all peace officers across the United States who made the ultimate sacrifice and laid down their lives while serving and protecting their communities.

SHAY UPDATE!
We wanted to let you know that LVMPD Officer Shay Mikalonis went to the Police vs Fire Charity Tackle Football Game over the weekend. He had a great time and had a chance to visit with friends and see people he knew and worked with! He was honored to lead the police team onto the field before kickoff!
Shay continues to receive care following the June 2020 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that left him paralyzed.
During #NationalPoliceWeek2024, we honor #PoliceMemorialDay (May 15) which remembers police officers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty. 💙
