On behalf of Sheriff Robert G. Luna and all of our LASD family, we offer our sincerest condolences to Officer McKinney’s family and to the entire Memphis Police Department.

During today’s early morning hours, three Memphis Police Officers were shot while responding to a suspicious vehicle call. Two officers survived this senseless act of violence, but tragically Officer McKinney succumbed to his injuries.

Officer McKinney had served with the Memphis Police Department for over 4 years and leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly.
