The day the dinosaurs died: Palaeontologist discovers incredible 66 million-year-old graveyard packed with fish, mammals, and a Triceratops that were buried by tsunami from the asteroid that wiped out 75% of life on Earth.
Some sixty-six million years ago, a scene of unimaginable horror played out in a North Dakota floodplain now aptly known as the Hell Creek Formation.
It came without warning; Earth shook violently with the seismic waves originating from an impact equal to a magnitude 10 or 11 earthquake, and deadly glass beads rained down from the sky like tiny ballistic missiles traveling 200 miles per hour.
Through six years of digs at the site, a paleontologist has finally confirmed something he's long suspected โ in the heart of North Dakota lies a prehistoric โkilling fieldโ that may be the best evidence yet of the events that occurred during Earthโs most notorious mass extinction. #science

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is stressing the urgency of climate change, calling out the U.S. government for swiftly responding to war and conflict as with 9/11, but being slow and ineffective when it comes to American lives lost in natural disasters. She compared the response to 9/11 with the 3,000 lives lost in Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria asking, 'Where is our response?' Historically speaking, we have mobilized our entire economy around war. But I thought to myself it doesn't have to be that way, especially when our greatest existential threat is climate change,' AOC said. AOC went on to defend the Green New Deal, her cosponsored proposed stimulus program, and reject the Republican criticism of it. 'This is urgent, and to think that we have time is such a privileged and removed-from-reality attitude that we cannot tolerate,' she said.
