Another DC police officer commits suicide after Capitol protest. A Washington, DC, police officer who responded to the Jan. 6 Capitol protest committed suicide in the days after the siege, the acting chief of the Metropolitan Police Department told members of Congress. Officer Jeffrey Smith is one of two cops to commit suicide in the aftermath of the protest. Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood also died by suicide soon after the insurrection. Officer Brian Sicknick, also of the Capitol Police, died after being beaten by rioters as they tried to break into the building in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Acting Chief Robert J. Contee III announced Smith had died while addressing a closed session of the House Appropriations Committee. “We honor the service and sacrifices of Officers Brian Sicknick, Howard Liebengood, and Jeffery Smith, and offer condolences to all the grieving families.” he said. #RIP

WASHINGTON - Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys extremist group, has a past as an informer for federal and local law enforcement, repeatedly working undercover for investigators after he was arrested in 2012, according to a former prosecutor and a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding obtained by Reuters.
In the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.
Tarrio, in an interview with Reuters Tuesday, denied working undercover or cooperating in cases against others. “I don’t know any of this,” he said, when asked about the transcript. “I don’t recall any of this.”
Law-enforcement officials and the court transcript contradict Tarrio’s denial. In a statement to Reuters, the former federal prosecutor in Tarrio’s case, Vanessa Singh Johannes, confirmed that “he cooperated with local and federal law enforcement, to aid in the prosecution of those running other, separate criminal enterprises, ranging from running marijuana grow houses in Miami to operating pharmaceutical fraud schemes.”

Joe Biden: "When I think of climate change, I think of jobs."
Yeah. Hand jobs, blow jobs, but mostly con jobs. This guy spent a half century in Washington suckling the public teat. He wouldn’t know how to create a job if he had to. (Although he did get a nice “job” for Hunter).

LOS ANGELES – Law enforcement agencies in the Southland and across the nation were told Wednesday of a “heightened threat environment” which federal officials are linking to the presidential transition that they say could lead to acts of domestic terrorism by extremists.
The Department of Homeland Security issued a national terrorism bulletin Wednesday warning of the potential for lingering violence from people motivated by anti-government sentiment after President Joe Biden’s election.
The department did not cite a specific threat, but pointed to “a heightened threat environment across the United States” that it believes “will persist” in the weeks since Biden took office. DHS said it consulted with law enforcement and intelligence agencies before issuing the alert about the potential for homegrown violent extremism.
“Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence,″ the bulletin said.
With the warning, the Biden administration is effectively stepping into the politically charged debate over how to describe or characterize acts motivated by political ideology, suggesting that it sees violence aimed at overturning the election as akin to terrorism.
