Body camera video released Friday shows that a man suspected of breaking into an Ogden car repair shop pointed a stapler at a responding officer as he approached her before he was shot. Weber County prosecutors are still investigating whether the shooting was justified. The #shooting occurred after Ogden police received a 911 call around 7:20 a.m. reporting that it appeared someone had broken into the AAMCO Transmission shop, at 3076 Wall Ave. The caller was dropping off their car and noticed that someone had apparently broken the glass entrance door. Four police officers who fatally shot a homicide suspect at the Oceanfront earlier this year will not face criminal charges because they fired in self defense, Virginia Beach’s top prosecutor ruled in a report released Friday. Among the evidence reviewed by Commonwealth’s Attorney Colin Stolle and his investigators was body camera video recorded by multiple officers on the scene, including at least one who fired at 23-year-old Alvin Lamont Baum II. The four officers were identified as Norfolk SWAT team members Sean Garrison and Lake Maizel, and Virginia Beach Warrant and Fugitive Squad Detectives Jason Mann and Nicholas Wengler.
