COMMERCE, Calif. - It may be fall, but Christmas is right around the corner. The tallest Christmas Tree in Los Angeles arrived at the Citadel Outlets on Friday. The 65-year old white fir was cut from a private tree farm in Shasta-Trinity Forest and then hoisted by a crane onto a truck. It’s a 650-mile journey to the mall, and the tree is so large, it had to be transported overnight so it didn’t jam freeway traffic. Victor Serrao, President of Victor's Custom Christmas Trees says selecting the tree wasn’t easy. and that they wanted to make sure it fit perfectly in a huge space. "It will be 100-foot tall, it’s got a nice color, the width at the bottom will probably be about 28 feet at the base, the trunk diameter is about 30 inches, and it will weigh about 15,000 pounds. Decorated, it’s about 25,000 pounds," he said.

Garden Grove police fatally shot a person in Garden Grove on Thursday afternoon, officials said. The #shooting took place about 3:40 p.m. in the 10000 block of Bolsa Avenue, Garden Grove Police Department Lt. Carl Whitney told KTLA. It occurred as Garden Grove police detectives were conducting an investigation in the neighboring city. A person, initially described only as male, was struck by gunfire, officials said. Police released no information Thursday regarding the circumstances leading up to the police shooting, or what prompted officers to open fire. The person was pronounced dead, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said via social media. No further details were immediately available.
Wichita police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead outside a sports stadium where a youth football game was being played. Police were called around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night to a disturbance at Stryker Sports Complex at 29th and Greenwich. When officers arrived, they heard several gunshots and saw people flee the scene. A 31-year-old man was taken by private vehicle to Wesley Woodlawn Hospital where he later died. He was identified as Marquell Nolen. Investigators believe the suspect got into a vehicle in the parking lot and fled. Surveillance photos provided by the Wichita Police Department show the suspect in all yellow clothing. There were no updates on the case on Friday. San Bernardino Police Department released the 911 call pertaining to the man who was killed yesterday in an officer involved shooting. Caller says the man is waving a gun around, is drunk and is jumping on top of vehicles. Sounds like pretty erratic behavior.
