Right now in Thailand. Riot police line up across Chalerm Pao Intersection in front of Siam Paragon, just 5-10 minute walk from the protest site at Pathumwan Intersection. Unclear if they will advance on the protesters.
NORTH LAS VEGAS — The North Las Vegas Police Department announced Thursday the department has been awarded $60,000 from the Office of Traffic Safety. The award is for the department’s “Pedestrian Safety, Education and Awareness Traffic Safety Program.” The goal of the program is provide the public with “innovative educational information about pedestrian safety to decrease pedestrian fatalities.” #NLVPD officials say they will use the money to team up with other area law enforcement for numerous pedestrian-focused events through September 2021.
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Colts closed their practice facility after “several individuals” tested positive for COVID-19, the team said Friday. The Colts wrote on Twitter that the team will work remotely. “This morning, we were informed that several individuals within our organization have tested positive for COVID-19. The team is currently in the process of confirming those tests,” the Colts said. “In the meantime, the practice facility will be closed and the team will work remotely while following NFL protocols.” The Colts are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons closed their facility Thursday following a second positive test for COVID-19, the Tennessee Titans played Tuesday following a 16-day layoff because of an outbreak, and the New England Patriots have twice had their original Week 5 matchup against Denver postponed following four positive coronavirus tests by players. They’re set to play Sunday.
Frost and freeze advisories are widespread this morning as much colder air settles in behind a cold front. That front is also bringing rain (heavy at times) along the East Coast. Hot temperatures still baking California and the Southwest. Heat advisories are up for the Coast.

A thoughtful boy in California was captured on camera returning a purse that a woman left on top of her car.
Massachusetts police said they are looking for help in tracking down two women who allegedly attacked a President Trump supporter in Massachusetts last week. "A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was physically assaulted by two females for displaying “TRUMP” flags on her vehicle," according to the City of Fall River Police Department on Facebook. The women allegedly pulled up to the victim’s vehicle in a grey Nissan Altima and exchanged words about the flags, Fall River Police Lt. Jay Huard said. The suspects then assaulted the female victim while her daughter was in the backseat, authorities added. Police said anyone with more information is asked to contact Detective Luis Vertentes at 508-324-2796. Those who wish to share an anonymous tip can call 508-672-8477.
At least 118 officers have separated from the Seattle police department this year, according to a report on Thursday. The separations included lateral-moves to other agencies and retirements. The bulk included those who resigned.
ATLANTA - Atlanta police say they have made an arrest in the shooting death of actor Thomas Jefferson Byrd. Antonio Demetrice Rhynes, 30, of Atlanta, is facing felony murder charges in connection to the case. Byrd was shot and killed in southwest Atlanta on October 4. The 70-year-old actor was found unresponsive in the front yard of a home on Belvedere Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds to his back. He died at the scene. Byrd had appeared in a number of films over the years, many directed by Spike Lee, and was nominated for a Tony award in 2003. Rhynes was identified as a suspect and located Friday morning at the Royal Oaks Apartments off North Camp Creek Parkway. He was taken into custody without incident. Rhynes faces charges of felony murder. Police have not released a motive for the crime.

NAPA COUNTY, California -- Authorities in Napa County released video on Wednesday showing a deputy fatally shoot a man who was unarmed — but whom authorities said ignored commands and “aggressively” approached the sheriff’s deputy with his arm behind his back. Napa County sheriff’s officials said the Oct. 5 incident that resulted in the death of Juan Adrian Garcia began when Sgt. David Ackman pulled Garcia over for not having his headlights on. Garcia stopped near the intersection of Kaiser Road and State Highway 221, south of the city of Napa. (Read the full story.) #shooting
