Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area are seeking the public’s help in identifying robbery suspects. On September 26, 2020, around 10:50 a.m., the victim exited a convenience store and walked through the parking lot in the 5000 block of West Pico Boulevard. Two suspects approached the victim, physically assaulted him, and took his money. Suspect #1, the driver, is described as a male Hispanic in his 40’s, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and red shoes. Suspect #2 , the passenger, is described as a male Black, in his 40’s, wearing a blue baseball cap, white t-shirt, and orange reflective vest. The suspect vehicle is described as a late model, red, 2-door Honda Civic with California license plate ending in “2.” Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Detective Villatoro, Robbery Section, at 213-922-8217. A 17-year-old accused of killing two protesters days after Jacob Blake was shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is due back in court today as his attorneys fight efforts to send him to Wisconsin to stand trial on homicide charges. No immediate decision is expected during Kyle Rittenhouse’s scheduled hearing in Lake County, Illinois. At Rittenhouse’s last court hearing in late September, Judge Paul Novak gave his attorneys two weeks to prepare filings and said he would then schedule a hearing on the issue. In court records filed late Thursday,, Rittenhouse’s attorneys argued that he was acting in self-defense and extraditing him to Wisconsin authorities would violate his constitutional rights. They also argue that Wisconsin prosecutors and Illinois authorities didn’t follow legal technicalities required for extradition. A Kenosha County prosecutor didn’t immediately respond to an email after hours on Thursday about the extradition paperwork.

Baltimore cops arrested two people allegedly connected to the killing of an on-duty bus driver. Cameron Kane Silcott, 24, and Nichelle Nicole Greene, 27, were apprehended after a three-hour standoff at the Perkins Homes housing project, the Baltimore Sun reported. Police did not immediately say what charges Silcott and Greene face. Bus driver Marcus Parks, 51, had just emptied his bus on busy Fayette Street at around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday when an individual attempted to board. When Parks refused the man’s entry, the two got into an argument that culminated in the individual stealing Parks’ bag, then shooting him when he gave chase. A witness told the Sun the perp shot Parks, then approached his body on the ground and fired again. Police are investigating whether Parks and his assailant knew one another.

Ohio State Highway Patrol released the cruiser cam footage of the #pursuit involving the Maryland murder suspect on I-70 Sunday. Troopers told News Center 7′s John Bedell that suspect, 17-year-old Stephen Jarrod Davis, took off from police going 120 mph. They said on Sunday, they received an alert to look out for the vehicle he had stolen and spotted him on I-70 westbound at the Clark-Madison County line. The troopers then followed him until US-68 when they tried to pull him over. Davis then took off before he decided to pull over and surrender five miles later near the I-675 interchange. The Clark County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to News Center 7 that Davis has waived extradition and will be picked up and taken back to Anne Arundel County, Md. Thursday. He’s facing a first-degree murder charge there in connection with the death of his younger, half-sister.

Body-camera video released Wednesday shows the fatal #shooting of a man by sheriff’s deputies in the Beard Industrial District last week. Eloy Mares Gonzalez Jr., 41, was wielding a hatchet and refusing orders to surrender when he was shot around 5 a.m. Sept. 27, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said. Deputies Chad Lewis and Brandon Silva fired the fatal shots, Sgt. Luke Schwartz said by phone Wednesday. Deputies had responded to a burglar alarm at a building on the 800 block of Business Park Drive, in the southwest part of the sprawling Beard complex. The video shows deputies confronting Gonzalez at an outside wall, illuminated in the predawn darkness by their flashlights. Over several minutes, they ask him to raise his hands and later to lie on his abdomen. They also deploy Tasers and a sheriff’s K-9 on him. Rodriguez then appears to wrestle with deputies, and several shots are fired. The hatchet he had swung at them was found nearby, the department said.
