WESTLAND, Michigan -- One night last month, Westland police rushed to an unusual scene: an SUV endlessly turning “donuts” in the middle of an intersection before the vehicle burst into flames and the driver refused to exit, police said. Moments later, the SUV was aflame, and officers had to pull the resisting driver out, which saved his life but led to an arrest, said investigators, who released dashcam video of the incident. The incident unfolded about 12:45 a.m. June 21 near of Ford and Venoy roads, where a 43-year-old man’s blue Chevrolet Traverse circled in reverse with the air bags covering the windows. Officers initially thought the driver, a Livonia resident, was unconscious but noticed him smiling at them and holding the steering wheel.

Surveillance footage released by the Escondido Police Department shows an officer shooting a man accused of charging him with a crowbar. Rosendo Sandoval Quezada, 44, was shot by police in the early hours of June 19. Police were called by the son of Quezada's ex-wife, who reported Quezada was "lurking" around their home, according to EPD. Quezada's ex-wife had filed a restraining order against him a few days prior. A responding officer saw Quezada's car driving away from the home and followed. The officer tried to initiate a traffic stop after Quezada ran a stop sign, but he did not immediately pull over. (Read the Full Story.) #shooting

Portland records deadliest month in 30 years, FOX NEWS reported. At least 15 people were killed in Portland during the month of July, which was the highest number of deadly shootings or stabbings in a single month since the 1980s, according to authorities. Police Chief Chuck Lovell addressed last month's violence which ended on Friday following a 150-round shooting at an apartment building in the city. So far this year, 24 people in Portland have died in homicides. To solve the recent crimes, Lovell said the police bureau pulled officers from an “already diminished patrol” unit to help work on follow-up investigations. He remarked how the bureau was forced to cut its Gun Violence Reduction Team at the direction of the City Council, which has made their job more difficult. The 34-member team was broken up on July 1 following budget cuts to police units that reportedly targeted a disproportionate number of Black people in traffic stops.

A man suspected to be armed took a hostage in a bank office in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday but has made no demands yet, deputy interior minister Anton Gerashchenko said. Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook that the man came to the bank at midday, told employees there he had a bomb in his backpack and asked them to call police. "Employees of the banking institution left the office while the head of the branch remained there (as hostage). Police have begun negotiations with the terrorist and asked him to surrender," Gerashchenko said. Later he told a local television that the man demanded to give interviews to journalists. It was the third such incident in recent weeks. Last month, an armed man held 13 people captive on a bus for hours before freeing them. He was arrested. Arkansas BLM hyenas traveled to Zinc, Arkansas, to march on the Ku Klux Klan's Grand Wizard's hometown and compound Sunday. The protest comes just four days after a viral video labeled nearby Harrison, Arkansas, as being 'America's Most Racist Town' and the 'Ku Klux Klan's headquarters.' The KKK's website claims its national headquarters to be in Harrison and that its national director, Thomas Robb, uses at least three post office boxes there, the Springfield News-Leader reported. Sunday's protest was organized by Bridge the Gap NWA and also promoted by Ozarks Hate Watch, drawing Black Lives Matters hyenas from as far away as Branson and Springfield.The protesters met at the Harrison Police Department before traveling in a caravan towards Zinc. Along the road to Zinc, the protesters' caravan passed people holding signs that read 'Turn back,' according to photos shared on Ozarks Hate Watch's Facebook page.
