Multiple cars have been set on fire near Philadelphia City Hall as protests continue.

Hayward, California — On May 27, at about 12:44 PM officers responded to a call for service of a suspicious person in the area of Bahama Avenue and Sleepy Hollow Avenue. Community members called to report that a man on a motorcycle was chasing someone and banging on doors in the neighborhood. Our officers located the involved man. During the contact, an officer discharged his service weapon after the man approached officers with a weapon. At this point, we are still investigating to determine what else led to that outcome. The man, in his 60’s, was transported to the hospital. Police Chief Chaplin said the suspect took responsibility before being released from the hospital. “He admitted to retrieving the knife and lunging at the officers with a knife and he apologized,” Chaplin claimed.” The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail, and currently faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer. #shooting

Two active-duty airmen from the 319th Reconnaissance Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota are dead after an early-morning shooting at the base. The base said in a release that the shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m., and that emergency services at the base responded to the scene. Grand Forks said the situation is “contained,” and that there is not believed to be any further risk to personnel. The release did not say whether either of the two airmen killed are believed to be the shooter. Staff Sgt. Elijah Tiggs, a spokesman for the wing, said the shooting took place in one of the dorms on base. Tiggs said the Office of Special Investigations and security forces responded to the scene, but that he could not say anything further because an investigation is ongoing.

A Greene County resident is among three New Yorkers facing federal charges for allegedly throwing homemade explosive devices at New York Police Department vehicles Saturday morning. Samantha Shader, 27, whose address is listed in Catskill, is accused of lobbing a Molotov cocktail – sometimes known as a "bottle bomb" – at an NYPD car occupied by four police officers and shattering two windows. A witness recorded the incident on video, and Shader admitted to throwing the device at the vehicle in a statement after her arrest, according to a Sunday release from the Department of Justice.

Sheriff's deputies in Ohio hoisted a “Thin Blue Line” flag at a county jail Sunday after its American flag was stolen. Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil said the new black, white and blue flag was raised at the Hamilton County Justice Center to honor a Cincinnati police officer who was shot during a public demonstration over the weekend, according to a tweet from the sheriff's office. The officer was wearing a ballistic helmet that was struck by a bullet near the University of Cincinnati early Sunday. He was not injured, authorities said. The "Thin Blue Line" flag is used by many law enforcement agencies and supporters to honor police officers.
