A top National Guard general on Friday refuted false rumors of martial law and a nationwide quarantine as troops continue to get called up amid the coronavirus pandemic, Fox News reported. Lengyel's tweet comes as many people across the U.S. reported receiving text messages warning of martial law, prompting authorities to assure residents the messages were fake. U.S. defense officials have warned that foreign bad actors could use this uncertain time to plant bad rumors in order to panic the American public. Governors across the country continue to deploy Guard troops in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Troops in New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Illinois, Louisiana and Michigan, among other states, are supporting relief efforts. Their mission includes disinfecting public spaces, distributing food, assisting with transportation and logistical support of health officials, and collecting and delivering samples.

Donald Trump has declared New York State a major disaster area as the number of confirmed #coronavirus cases skyrockets and it becomes the epicenter of the US outbreak. The US military said that is now working on plans to to take over hotels, college dorms and other buildings in New York State in a bid to bolster the country's number of hospital rooms as part of its response to the coronavirus emergency. The president's declaration comes as a hospital in the Bronx revealed it is running low on ventilators, a Queens doctor revealed that an elderly patient experiencing coronavirus symptoms died on the hospital ward floor and video (center showed hundreds lining up, waiting to be tested at Queens' Elmhurst Hospital. Drive-thru coronavirus testing centers in New York City and New Jersey (right) were also flooded by people with symptoms hoping to be checked out.

(WARNING: 21+) The Fairfield Police department released body cam Friday that shows what led up to a deadly officer-involved shooting. A grand jury returned no indictment against three officers involved in a deadly officer-involved shooting at a Fairfield apartment complex earlier this month, according to Butler County Prosecutor Michael T. Gmoser. It happened just before noon on March 6 at the Timber Hollow Apartments on South Timber Hollow Drive, just off Dixie Highway. Police say they were called to the apartment complex for a domestic dispute between a couple that lived at the address. During that confrontation, the man, Tyler Jones, 24, pulled a gun, a release from the Fairfield Police Department states. (Read the full story.) #shooting
