Hundreds of college spring breakers have defied orders from police to stop partying on the beach after a stretch of Florida's South Beach was closed due to coronavirus fears. Instead of returning home when the famed party strip was closed on Saturday afternoon many students continued the week of celebrations further down the coast on other parts of the beach. The most popular parts of the beach closed to the public from 4.30pm Saturday and are set to remain shut until March 19 with Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber declaring that spring break in Miami Beach is 'over' after a state of emergency was declared Thursday. #facepalm

A Jew drawing a swastika in attempts to stage a hate crime. Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked if this guy was an ADL operative. https://twitter.com/proxyway/status/1239432312116465664?s=21

A violent fight broke out inside an Iowa Walmart on Thursday involving four women, including the heavily pregnant daughter of boxer Antwun Echols. Cellphone video recorded inside the Davenport Walmart captured the altercation, which began as a verbal argument between three acquaintances, but quickly escalated to a physical confrontation. According to the person who recorded the video, the initial dispute was over hand sanitizing products, which have become scarce in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic. #facepalm

President Donald Trump on Monday released a series of coronavirus guidelines to slow the spread that calls for a lockdown of America, including the closing of restaurants and schools. 'Each and every one of us has a critical role to play in stopping the spread,' the president said in the White House briefing room. And while his guidelines will be revisited after the initial 15 day proposal, the president warned the virus could affect American life well into the summer. 'People are talking about July, August, something like that,' Trump said. 'They could be right in that period of time where it washes through.'

Residents in six San Francisco Bay Area counties will be confined to their homes for the next three weeks under a new shelter-in-place order aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus. The mandate, which goes into effect Tuesday and will affect nearly 7 million people, orders residents to avoid unnecessary travel and only leave their homes for food, medicine and exercise, according to county officials who made the announcement. It affects the counties of San Francisco, Marin, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda and Contra Costa, as well as the city of Berkeley. San Francisco Mayor London Breed criticized what she called a "terrible response" by federal officials. "We must move aggressively and immediately," said San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, whose city is the epicenter of Bay Area outbreak. "History will not forgive us for waiting an hour more."
