The Newport Oregon Police Department is advising their citizens not to call 911 because they ran out of toilet paper. The department posted the advisory on their Facebook page, along with some alternatives to toilet paper… It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this. Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance. In fact, history offers many other options for you in your time of need if you cannot find a roll of your favorite soft, ultra plush two-ply citrus scented tissue. Seamen used old rope and anchor lines soaked in salt water. Ancient Romans used a sea sponge on a stick, also soaked in salt water. We are a coastal town. We have an abundance of salt water available. Sea shells were also used. Then, of course, there are always alternatives to toilet paper. Grocery receipts, newspaper, cloth rags, lace, cotton balls, and that empty toilet paper roll sitting on the holder right now. Plus, there are a variety of leaves you can safely use. Mother Earth News magazine will even tell you how to make your own wipes using fifteen different leaves. When all else fails, you have magazine pages. Start saving those catalogs you get in the mail that you usually toss into the recycle bin. Be resourceful. Be patient. There is a TP shortage. This too shall pass. Just don’t call 9-1-1. We cannot bring you toilet paper. 😂 #lol

Here's a quickie on the specs:

• Take down, as per the PCC
• Barre threaded 1/2-28
• Integrated rear picatinny rail to accept rail brace mounts a la the Sig MPX

• Takes standard AR pistol grips
• On my Lyman digital trigger scale, I got a 10-pull average trigger pull of 5 lb, 9.5 ounces.

This table shows the public health measures which nine major cities have taken - or not taken - to stop the spread of coronavirus. Some have been imposed by national or regional governments. In some cases, there have been partial bans (shown in orange), for example in Berlin where bars are closed but restaurants can remain open if they enforce a 5ft safety distance. The figures for Paris, Los Angeles and Rome include cases from the wider regions which surround them
An inmate facing execution Wednesday in the Texas death chamber for killing his family won a reprieve due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals on Monday stayed John William Hummel’s execution for 60 days “in light of the current health crisis and the enormous resources needed to address the execution.” Hummel, 44, was on death row for fatally stabbing of his pregnant wife, Joy Hummel, 45, and fatally bludgeoning his father-in-law, Clyde Bedford, 57, with a baseball bat in 2009. Evidence showed he also used the bat to beat to death his 5-year-old daughter Jodi Hummel. However, he was only convicted of capital murder in the deaths of his wife and father-in-law. Prosecutors said he killed his family so he could woo a woman he met at a convenience store.
