A sheriff’s office in Florida arrested a man who neighbors said wouldn’t stop revving his lawn mower, disturbing the peace of the neighborhood. Deputies got a complaint from Robert Miller’s neighbors who said they couldn’t sleep and were fed up with his loud engine revving. Deputies told Miller, 57, to stop revving his lawn mower so loudly, as it could be heard from three houses away. Miller reportedly replied that he didn’t care, and went back to working. Miller was eventually placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Miller’s neighbors on Ruth Avenue say the harassment has been ongoing for months. With Miller’s bond set at less than $200, neighbors fear it’s only a matter of time until the lawn mower menace returns.👮🏻♂️ #facepalm

A 26-year-old Israeli national was arrested for fraud last week, accused of trying to cash a $1 million check in the name of her husband, a 77-year-old Florida businessman, whom she had married four months earlier. Lin Helena Halfon was arrested at Tampa International Airport on Dec. 16 for allegedly stealing $666,666 from her husband Richard Rappaport. A Tampa bank had refused to cash a $1 million cashier’s check a month earlier, the Tampa Bay Times reported, citing court records. Halfon walked into a Tampa Amscot Branch with the check Nov. 7, telling employees that she intended to use the money to buy a yacht in Miami but, because Rappaport’s name was also on the check, the bank refused, court records showed. 😂 #facepalm

Herman said she was grateful to God that the family wasn’t at their Colon-area home during Tuesday evening's fire: “What a sad time for this to happen, but thank God they were gone. They could have lost their lives.” WTVB reports the parents and their two teenage daughters are now staying with family members in Mendon.🔥

The District Attorney in Boston says the three deaths of a woman and two young children at a parking garage on Christmas Day were apparently the results of a double murder-suicide. 40 year-old Erin Pascal, her daughter, 4-year-old Allison, and her son, 1-year-old Andrew were all pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the mother threw the children to their deaths before jumping herself. “I want to extend my sincere condolences to this family,” Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said. “Yesterday, the unspeakable happened.” “For a parent to come to a place in which they harm their children in this way indicates their mental health struggles were severe and need of immediate supports,” Rollins said. Two other suicides have occurred at the location in the past 7 months.

Southern California slammed by winter snow storm, stranding holiday travelers; system now heads east. Holiday travelers in Southern California were hit with a blustery winter storm Thursday that saw the shutdown of major highways and at least one death as forecasters now warn that the system is picking up strength as it heads to the Central Plains and Upper Midwest. A 60-year-old woman died in San Diego County at around 6:50 a.m after the vehicle she was a passenger in lost control and veered off the road into an embankment. The victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt and in the back seat, was thrown forward into the windshield and pronounced dead on the scene. Traffic was at a standstill after heavy snowfall shut down the busy Interstate 5 in Tejon Pass through the mountains north of Los Angeles and stopped traffic on Interstate 15 over Cajon Pass in the inland region to the east.❄️
