WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT! A Hong Kong police officer was hit by an arrow as authorities used tear gas and water cannons to try to drive back protesters occupying a university campus as well as the surrounding streets. Violent clashes between demonstrators and police began yesterday and continued into today as arrows and petrol bombs were launched at riot cops from huge catapults. A group of demonstrators set fire to barricades and blocked the entrance to the Cross Harbour Tunnel as the pro-democracy protests continued. During a stand-off with protesters, police said an arrow struck a press officer, who was taken to a hospital. Photos on the department's Facebook page show the arrow sticking out of the back of the officer's lower leg.๐ฅ #HK
Shocking footage shows the moment a photographer is knocked unconscious when a football player crashes into her on the sidelines of a game. Photographer Chamberlain Smith was leveled on her back by University of Georgia Bulldogs running back Brian Herrien, during the game against Auburn University on Saturday. In footage picked up by TV cameras, Herrien is pushed out of bounds at the 4-yard line as he steams toward the end zone in the second quarter at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium in Alabama. But Herrien couldn't stop his momentum and slammed into Smith, who was on her knee for a camera angle. His knee is seen smacking into the photographer's head, sending her flat on her stomach where she remains motionless. ๐
