State authorities have suspended the license of a Colorado Springs daycare after 26 children – all under age 3 – were found behind a false wall in the owner's basement. The owner of Play Mountain Place daycare, Carla Faith, 58, is being investigated and three workers were arrested on charges of misdemeanor child abuse relating to neglect. (Those charges were canceled by detectives pending an ongoing investigation.) Faith was not arrested "as detectives pursue appropriate charges," according to CBS Denver. After a complaint regarding the number of children being housed at Play Mountain Place, the Department of Human Services (DHS) asked the Colorado Springs Police Department to assist with a welfare check at the facility on Wednesday.

Washington state police say a 14-year-old girl led them on a high-speed chase that ended with the girl’s arrest on charges of eluding police and driving under the influence. Washington State Patrol said the incident began around 12:30 a.m. Friday when an SUV sped off after a trooper tried to stop it in Puyallup, about 35 miles south of Seattle. The video shows that the bicyclist did not stop for the stop sign, but the crosswalk is marked and has flashing yield signs which turn on when pedestrians or bicyclists are present. The victim suffered broken bones but police say his injuries were not considered life threatening. Police are now trying to find the driver of the vehicle. #facepalm

Jason Brown, also known as “Abdul Ja’Me,” allegedly provided $500 to an individual three separate times in 2019, believing that the recipient would then wire that money to an Islamic State (ISIS) soldier in Syria, according to the federal complaint. In a recorded conversation obtained by the Justice Department, Brown can be heard saying, “it [jihad] cannot be done like it is in Syria. In the U.S., jihad is done by spreading the word of Islam.” What Brown, 37, did not know was that the individual with whom he was dealing was working with law enforcement; the supposed ISIS fighter was an undercover officer.
